It is organized and operated to promote the sanctity of human life in the public square through prayer, education, and Christian charity to all, in the hope that through God’s endless mercy, hearts will turn toward life and the lives of the unborn will be spared.

Donations can be sent to: Pray For Life Center, 12 Royal Range Road, Sandown, New Hampshire 03873. Contact Cathy Kelley at 483-5177 or send an email to prayforlifecenter@gmail.com for more information.

PFLC is open all day on Thursdays (the day in which 20-30 lives are lost by surgical abortion at Planned Parenthood). For those who cannot walk in vigil outside Planned Parenthood, you are welcome to pray for the unborn, their parents, and the Planned Parenthood staff in our prayer room chapel.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday September 18 2014

A mother of four stopped to talk before going into PP to "be there" for a friend having an abortion. She told us she agreed with us and had tried to talk her friend out of having the abortion. "I'll take whatever information you have and bring it to her. She already has three kids and has some problems and does not feel capable of caring for another child."

A woman showed us the paperwork given to her by a nurse that sent her to Planned Parenthood to have an implant as a form of birth control. She was told to return on another day. After all it was abortion day.

A mother and daughter got into a loud argument in the parking lot. The mother wanted the "cash" back. She had given her daughter the "cash" to pay for the abortion and now realized, it was paid for by insurance. They drove off arguing and actually came back around the block still going at it. The security guard told us to get their license plate. Sorry. Not in our job description.

Please consider joining us in our effort to give information to women before they go into PP. Are you pro-life "enough" to help with the difficult ministry of standing on the sidewalk and speaking to women going into PP; to offer them brochures with alternatives to that ultimate child abuse - abortion? Sidewalk Advocacy training is a four hour class and is a combination of the techniques used by, the Pro-Life Action League's "Chicago Method", Msgr. Reilly's Helpers of God's Precious Infants and Karen Black. Dates will be announced next week.

This Thursday after the 7 00 P M Mass  All teenagers, parents, grandparents and anyone trying to speak about morals, chastity and  abstinence this talk is for you.
"Forming / Protecting Your Teenager's Purity"
On Thursday Sept. 25 after the 7:00pm Mass at St. Matthew Church, 2 Searles Rd, Windham N.H. Jackie Hynes will be speaking on a subject which should be of interest to all parents and grandparents trying to encourage teenagers to remain chaste.  The talk is entitled "Forming / Protecting Your Teenager's Purity", Hopeful and Helpful strategies that all parents can implement in daily family life. It is sponsored as part of the Respect Life Series by the Windham NH Knights of Columbus.

Buffer Zone Update:
Michael Tierney listeners were eager for an update on the buffer zone lawsuitReddy v. Foster. “The buffer zone law is all about squelching pro-life speech. Why? Because the pro-life message, especially prayer, is effective.” In a status report filed in federal court last Friday, all parties to the suit agreed that there had been no “factual changes” since a temporary restraining order was issued in July to block enforcement of New Hampshire’s buffer zone law. The restraining order thus remains in place. He asked participants to contact him or Jen Robidoux if any signs go up outside facilities, delineating a zone – “we need to report that to the Court.”  see

Update on Pennacook St Thursday September 11 2014

Thursday morning one couple arrived at 7:30am, waiting for Planned Parenthood to open at 8:00am.  The abortionist also arrived earlier than usual, perhaps because a doctor from Massachusetts arrived shortly after 8:00 and stayed several hours.

The morning was busy with the parking lot almost full before noon. We noticed at least one college student going in for an abortion. We did have conversations with some of the women, but most of them denied they were there for an abortion.  We watch these same women as they are leaving and there is no doubt why there were at Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the country.

Social agencies, schools and especially PP should not be in charge of educating or advising your children on morals.

We have a new training session starting soon, on how to be an effective sidewalk counselor.
Please consider becoming more involved in helping women make the right choice.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday September 4 2014

Another new security guard on duty Thursday. Unlike some we have met, he was content to be there and said he had been involved with an abortion.

A woman that walked to Planned Parenthood stopped to speak with us on her way out. She said she was there to have her IUD removed. She also told us this was her "THIRD TIME" there to have it taken out and they finally succeeded in removing the intrauterine device. We gave her some information about the possible side effects of  IUDS.  She said there was so much pain with it and then the difficulty to have it removed that she would never have another IUD.

We spoke to a young woman as she was leaving and she was happy to learn that she could go for free pregnancy testing at the Pennacook Pregnancy Center, just a block away.

We received an email from our pro-life friends in Concord, about a pleasant encounter they had last week. They were praying on Main St. in front of the Concord Feminist Center, when a woman approached them and said "you do make a difference. I was on the fence for quite some time, but decided to keep my baby". She was obviously happily pregnant.

Many thanks to all who attended the baby shower on Sunday. (See the pictures at prayforlifetcenter.org.).   The expectant mom was thrilled will all the beautiful gifts and very thankful for all the prayers.  She has decided the baby's middle name will be Faith, because of the journey she has been on.. Her mother promised to send us pictures when the baby girl arrives.

From September 24 – November 2, our community will take part in 40 Days for Life - a peaceful and prayerful campaign to end abortion through the use of a three-point program: prayer and fasting, a daily vigil from 7AM-7PM outside of the Planned Parenthood (24 Pennacook Street Manchester), and community outreach.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday August 28 2014

Keep praying. Maybe Headquarters will decide to close the Pennacook St. abortuary. The number of babies killed every Thursday has remained below their weekly quota.

After bringing a woman in for an abortion a man was told to leave the premises. Seems PP was not happy he had a gun in his holster.  The woman was picked up later by a man carrying a knife. The employees say they are intimidated by people holding rosary beads and brochures. REALLY???

We gave a crocheted baby blanket to an expectant mother who was keeping her baby, This same mother accompanied a woman with an appointment to abort her baby.

Tuesday Sept. 9, is Primary Day. If you can watch the debates on WMUR  at 7 PM Tues Sept. 2nd through Fri Sept. 5.  Please vote for those who will defend the right to life.

BABY SHOWER IS THIS SUNDAY SEPT.7 at 1:30pm.  Please RSVP to prayforlifecenter@gmail.com or call 603 232 5046

Update on Pennacook St Thursday August 14 2014

Good news!

Early afternoon two women in their mid twenties stopped to talk before going into PP. One of the women had a scheduled abortion appointment, but admitted she wasn't sure what she wanted to do. They both took brochures to read.  Well a short time later they came out and the woman with the appointment told us "I couldn't go through with it."

Two teenage sisters were told by PP to come back on Friday to have a pregnancy test.  We directed them to the Pennacook Pregnancy Center where pregnancy tests are always free and no one is ever turned away.

The parking lot was almost full by 10:00am.  We did get to speak with some of the people before they went into PP.  A mother walked over to talk with us while her daughter went inside to keep her abortion appointment.  The mother said "I'm a Christian. I work in a doctor's office and I agree with what you are doing." She said her daughter was under a lot of stress and she had tried to talk her out of the abortion. The mother waited over five hours to drive her daughter home.

We attended a meeting with two pro-life attorneys to hear the latest on the buffer zone Planned Parenthood is trying to establish outside of their abortion mills. We will continue our peaceful, prayerful vigil on the Pennacook Street sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood. The court has scheduled a hearing for Monday, September 22nd. There is a current Court ordered "stay" against the buffer zone in N.H.  (see Cornerstone Buffer Zone Update Below)

Cornerstone Action

Buffer Zone Update

The anti-free-speech "buffer zone" law is now in court, unenforced
Seven New Hampshire pro-life activists filed suit against the new buffer zone law before it took effect. The law is on hold pending a status report to be made in September in federal district court in Concord. The case is Reddy v. Foster, and Cornerstone will be watching it closely.

Federal District Court Judge Joseph Laplante has ordered all the parties to the lawsuit to inform him if there are any developments before the September hearing that might have a bearing on the case. For now, representatives of abortion facilities have advised the judge that they do not have immediate plans to erect signage to mark any zones, which leaves the law unenforced.

Five towns with abortion facilities are named as defendants in the suit along with New Hampshire attorney general Joseph Foster and five county attorneys. Passage of the buffer zone law is thus already affecting taxpayers on the municipal, county, and state levels.

What can (and cannot) be done prior to the September hearing
It is still legal for pro-life people to pray or demonstrate peacefully outside New Hampshire abortion facilities. Compassion and love for the workers and mothers as well as the babies is always needed.

Expect increased scrutiny from abortion-facility workers who will be on the lookout for any incidents, even minor ones. Sidewalk counselors and prayer witnesses should not work alone and should carry a camera, even a cell-phone camera, to document any incidents. (That's a good idea with or without a pending lawsuit.) As always, don't photograph patients. No audio recording; that's illegal in NH without permission from all parties.

Timeline for New Hampshire's "buffer zone" law
January 2013:
In McCullen v. Coakley, The U.S. First Circuit Court of Appeals upholds a Massachusetts law imposing a 35-foot buffer zone around abortion facilities.

April 2, 2013: Planned Parenthood of Northern New England senior policy advisor Jennifer Frizzell announces in an interview on New Hampshire Public Radio's The Exchange that PP is having "preliminary conversations" about potential city ordinances and state legislation to impose "patient safety zones" outside PPNNE's New Hampshire facilities.

June 2, 2013: The Concord Monitor reports that a citizen petition will be presented to the Concord city council, requesting an ordinance imposing a 35-foot buffer around "reproductive health facilities."

June 26, 2013: The U.S. Supreme Court agrees to hear the appeal of the Massachusetts case, McCullen v. Coakley

August 2013: Concord's mayor and city councilors accept the city solicitor's advice not to take up the buffer zone petition, pending the outcome of McCullen.

January 2014: Eight New Hampshire legislators (five Democrat, three Republican) introduce Senate Bill 319, seeking to impose a statewide buffer zone law applicable within 25 feet of "reproductive health facilities." Chief sponsor Sen. Donna Soucy (D-Manchester) says "This bill is about safety and balance."

February 19: New Hampshire's Senate passes SB 319 on a 15-9 vote.

May 15
New Hampshire's House passes SB 319 on a 162-100 vote.

June 10Governor Maggie Hassan signs SB 319, with an effective date of July 10. She says, “Women should be able to access critical health services without fearing for their safety, and this bipartisan, common-sense measure will help ensure the safety of patients and the public, while also protecting the rights of free speech and privacy."

June 26
The U.S. Supreme Court overturns the lower court ruling in McCullen v. Coakley and declares the Massachusetts buffer zone law unconstitutional. New Hampshire's Governor Hassan says the state will "closely review" the decision.

July 7Seven New Hampshire pro-lifers file Reddy v. Foster, a suit to block enforcement of the buffer zone law.

July 9
U.S. District Court Judge Joseph Laplante grants the plaintiffs a temporary restraining order and schedules a preliminary injunction hearing for July 25.

July 23: All parties to the lawsuit agree to a stay (delay in enforcement), with representatives of abortion providers assuring the judge that no zones will be posted for the time being. The July 25 hearing is cancelled, and Judge Laplante orders a status report in 60 days.

For the family,

Bryan McCormack
Executive Director

Update on Pennacook St Thursday July 24 2014

A woman we spoke with last Thursday was back today.  Last week her male companion told us she was there for an abortion but she denied it.  She was there for several hours and left with a "pill."  They both talked about her drug addiction and the fact she had two other children.  Today she come out of Planned Parenthood, and as she walked away told us she wasn't "feeling good."

A couple with a young child went into PP. They do not allow children inside on abortion day, so the father and child were back outside in a very short time.  He told us they already had one child and they had no one else in this Country to help them. We asked how old his son was and he said "please do not generate any more sadness."  He got into his car and did not return till his wife was ready to leave.

They are doing way fewer abortions on Pennacook Street. So why were there two abortionists there today? Hmmm.....

Very impressive to see the employees of a popular supermarket stand outside all of those markets with signs and petitions to garner support for what they believe in.

What about you? Do you believe life begins at conception and each life is a unique creation of the Supreme Creator? Will you stand outside your local abortion mill and give out information about the human rights violations that take place inside?

As always, everyone is welcome to go inside the PFLC to pray on Thursday, to visit and to catch up with what is going on with friends and families

Update on Pennacook St Thursday July 17 2014

Thursday's abortion business on Pennacook Street has decreased by double digits.

A woman who had her abortion appointment several weeks ago went into Planned Parenthood today while her friend walked over to speak with us.  She told us, her friend had been back to PP "six times" since having the abortion on June 26.  One visit she was told she had PID (pelvic inflammatory disease); on another visit she was told she had a bacterial infection.  She went to a local ER where she had an ultrasound and an exam. She was told there was "tissue" that should have been removed during the abortion.  She came back today because they (Planned Parenthood) had to "redo the procedure."  Two abortion "procedures" within three weeks.

A man and woman walked by us and refused offers of help. When the man came out for a smoke he decided to speak to us.  He told us the woman he came with was just a friend and it was not his baby.  He said she is a drug addict and lost custody of her two daughters.  When she was leaving she told us she was an addict. She said she had two daughters and had been "fixed".  She was Christian, pro-life and was there for a drug test.  She walked away, but was back in a few minutes. She said I forgot my "pill." The truth came out.  It was an RU486 chemical abortion.

As always, everyone is welcome to go inside the PFLC to pray on Thursday, to visit and to catch up with what is going on with friends and families

To all, you do make a difference. God knows you are there to honor Him and His creations.

Judge Stops New Hampshire Buffer Zone After Supreme Court Upholds Pro-Life Free Speech

Buffer Zone Law on hold in the LIVE FREE OR DIE STATE.

Partial temporary restraining order and procedural order for preliminary injunction hearing filed with United States District Court.  Request granted by District Judge LaPlante.

Next hearing  date July 25, 2014  Click here to read more

When they first entered the abortuary the man and the other woman did all the talking, refusing information. While their companion was having the life of her baby suctioned out, both left the area several times.

The woman that had the abortion never said a word.  Her head was covered by the hoodie, but the red face and crying eyes were visible. We tried to give her a brochure for post abortive healing but her male companion again refused and said "we're okay."  She clearly was not alright.

This day PP had more employees than abortion clients.

While the abortions were being performed the delivery man arrived with a large food order.  Try not to think about them gorging themselves on pizza etc, while in adjacent rooms plastic bags containing pieces of babies are kept and a suction machine whirs away tearing apart the most innocent of lives.

Tentative date for baby shower is Sunday Sept. 7 at the PFLC
Baby girl due Nov. 6.  Mother walked away from an abortion appointment at PP May 22.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday June 26 & July 3 2014

Supreme Court unanimously strikes down Massachusetts abortion buffer zone law

Portland, Maine repeals ‘buffer zone’ after Supreme Court ruling

Vermont city drops abortion clinic buffer zones

But New Hampshire Keeps Its Buffer Zone - Governor Maggie Hassan continues to implement her Pro-Planned Parenthood Buffer Zones which allow only Pro-Abortion speech on New Hampshire's public sidewalks outside Abortion Clinics while denying all Pro-Life Speech. Pro-Lifers have now been forced to go into Federal Court to protect everyone's First Amendment Right to Free Speech in New Hampshire.

Five of New Hampshire’s county attorneys have found themselves in a position they never sought: they’ve been called upon to defend New Hampshire’s buffer zone law, due to go into effect this week. Apparently, the conversations that preceded the introduction and passage of New Hampshire’s anti-speech law didn’t include the local prosecutors. Regrettable oversight, that. Read more at Leaven for the Loaf -Field guide to the buffer zone suit that you’re paying for

According to a report in Seacoast Online, New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph Foster has announced that the state’s new “buffer zone” law will not be enforced until further notice. The announcement was part of a formal filing in federal court, responding to the lawsuit by seven pro-lifers seeking to block enforcement of an anti-free-speech zone around abortion facilities.  Read more at Leaven for the Loaf - Update: NH Buffer Zone On Hold

The unanimous vote by the SCOTUS ruling the 35 foot buffer zone in Mass. is unconstitutional is welcome news to all pro-lifers and all who believe in the First Amendment. We wait to see what will happen with the 25 foot buffer zone law NH passed to go into effect July 10, 2014.

Thursday 7:30am June 29th - Planned Parenthood's first abortion customer has arrived and will wait till 8am when the doors are unlocked.

Just before the doors opened the next car pulled in and two young women walked across the parking lot to talk with us. The woman with the abortion appointment did all the talking. She said she totally understood why we were there and thanked us. She hugged the sidewalk counselor and asked for prayers. She had been raped and said her family wouldn't understand. We were told the rape happened in Manchester and had been reported to the police. The rapist has not been arrested and his identity is unknown. We offered to move her away to a safe place. We tried but to no avail. About six hours later just before she came out her friend came to talk with us. She was crying and told us she had not prayed in a long time. She asked us for rosary beads and prayer books. We also gave her information for her friend for post abortive healing.

Thursday July 3rd - The day before the Fourth of July, PP was open to deny the right to life to the unborn.

They arrived early - first a young couple, then a car driven by an older man with a middle aged couple and young woman, and then a woman in a small car followed by a well dressed young man (suit, white shirt, tie) in a SUV.  They all offered an unusual mix to start off a day of killing.

The young man stayed for thirty minutes or so, then drove off and never returned to see how the woman he went in with had fared. She came out less than an hour after the abortionist arrived.  She may or may not have been there for a chemical abortion (RU486). There was not time for a surgical abortion. She did not say anything before driving off.

The older man that brought the couple and the young girl left after 9am and returned to pick them up after 2pm. We tried talking to the couple but the woman said she saw what a real abortion looked like and did not want any brochures. We do NOT hand out graphic pictures of abortions. We were trying to give her information for post-abortive help.

Thunder and lightning rolled in before 2pm, accompanied by a couple of heavy downpours - the wrath of God on Pennacook Street.

Tentative date for baby shower is Sunday Sept. 7 at the PFLC

Baby girl due Nov. 6.  Mother walked away from an abortion appointment at PP May 22.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday June 19 2014

Still no ruling from the SCOTUS on the Massachusetts' Buffer Zone.  More decisions coming on Wednesday and Thursday.

For the past several weeks I have watched in amazement at the dozens of people working 24/7 on the building being constructed on Candia Road, next to the Goldenrod Restaurant.  I kept thinking about the cost of overtime pay - nights, Saturdays, and Sundays. Then the huge granite slab was put in place and the words chiseled into it explained everything.  "Jehovah's Witnesses". All the labor was done for free by members of the congregation. After working their regular jobs they came and worked 8 or more hours on the construction of  a new meeting place.

So. I ask all of you reading this: can you spare an hour a week to be a visible witness in the defense of the unborn?

Update on Pennacook St Thursday June 12 2014

Different abortionist again this week.

Number of surgical abortions continues to decline; perhaps due to the fact there have not been any customers from Massachusetts.  Massachusetts has sixteen abortion facilities that are not licensed and are not inspected.  Sounds familiar.

The volunteer escorts have not been present for the past three weeks.

The young teenage girl arrived in a huge SUV with Maine plates.  She was brought there by her mother and her grandmother. Just think about that for a minute. Who do you turn to for help when your own mother and grandmother bring you to Planned Parenthood to abort their grandchild/great grandchild? Four generations went in; only three came out alive.  Where are the men in her life?

Manchester city hall currently has PP's applications for signs that deny freedom of speech, right to peaceful assembly and most of all prohibiting PRAYER on the sidewalk outside of the abortion mill  at 24 Pennacook Street.  Put the pressure on the Planning/Zoning Board for a public hearing. Call the Mayor's Office at (603) 624 6500.

As always, everyone is welcome to go inside the PFLC to pray on Thursday, to visit and to catch up with what is going on with friends and families

Update on Pennacook St Thursday June 5 2014

The good news is since May, Manchester's Planned Parenthood has seen a steady decline in the number of abortions done on Thursdays.

The US Supreme Court has still not released its decision on the Massachusetts Buffer Zone case.

There are no signs prohibiting pro-life activities posted on Pennacook Street.

Brother Pio and Brother Seraphim (visiting from Indiana) lifted up our Lady of Guadalupe statue and walked back and forth praying and chanting outside of PP.  Earlier in the day a very distraught woman came out of PP and kicked this same statue over, breaking off a piece of it.  Seems she was upset - she had made an appointment for an abortion only to find out she wasn't pregnant.  She is not the first woman we have spoken with that had scheduled an abortion only to find out she wasn't pregnant.  Just when do they get the counseling about options? Is PP that desperate they schedule abortions before doing any kind of intake or counseling?

Saturday is Helpers of God's Precious Infants vigil starting after the 8:00am Mass at Blessed Sacrament Chapel at Saint Joseph Cathedral.

Hassan aborts free speech in New Hampshire - On Tuesday 6/10/14 Gov. Hassan will have a bill signing ceremony and sign the New Hampshire 25 foot Buffer Zone Bill.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday May 29 2014

Ascension Thursday - just another abortion day at Manchester's Planned Parenthood.

Two volunteers had just arrived and noticed a woman park in back of them. . After a quick glance we noticed she was crying.   We were not holding any signs and did not approach her, but watched as she moved her vehicle into PP's lot. Two employees came out and escorted her into the building. The point is she was crying not because of us but because she was going to abort her baby. The young couple stayed inside PP for quite some time before coming out and sitting in their car for almost an hour before driving off. She actually gave us the peace sign when she left. Before they drove off they stopped, the woman rolled down the car window she was smiling as she said  "we are keeping our baby”.

Before going into PP two women stopped to talk and one of them took a little bag containing rosary beads and information.  The woman that took the information came out at 11:00 and told is "I didn't do it." She then hurried away. Continue to pray for this women .

The US Supreme Court will issue twenty-five opinions in June. One of these will be it's decision on the Massachusetts' BufferZone case.

As of this writing Gov. Hassan has not signed the unconstitutional New Hampshire buffer zone bill.

Please consider attending the events we have listed below.

A conversation with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.???

Lately, I have seriously pondered what the great Martin Luther King Jr. would have said or thought about "buffer zone laws."

The New Hampshire House and Senate have passed such legislation, and Governor Maggie Hassan will sign it in to law.

I truly hungered for how Dr. King would have responded to such arrogance, desperation, and strong arming by our lawmakers as they rushed to create unjust restrictions and oppress my Constitutional rights to (speak and assemble) be on a public sidewalk, and to speak freely to those who will listen about alternatives choices to health care decisions.

The law has trampled, restricted, denigrated and mocked my Constitutional rights all in one fell  swoop.  Senate Bill 319 makes New Hampshire the 17th state to literally block access of a public sidewalk to the public at facilities that offer abortions.

From 1955 until his death in 1968, Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr.was the dominant leader of the US civil rights movement.  The Rev. Dr. King believed that nonviolent protest was the most effective weapon against a racist and unjust society.

I have often wondered what would have happened had they put up a buffer zone in Birmingham, or Albany, or at the March on Washington for jobs and freedom.  I was quickly harkened back and shown that the buffer zones in King's time did exist, consisting of  arrests and detainment of Dr. King over long periods of time, hoping to squash the efforts of those who joined him.

I was reminded in reading Dr. King's 1963 letter from a Birmingham jail, that King encountered many segregation policies and unjust laws in his quest for the truth.  He wrote the letter to answer some of his many critics.  He reminded them, " In any nonviolent campaign there are four basic steps: collection of the facts to determine whether injustices exist; negotiation; self purification; and direct action. We have gone through all these steps in Birmingham."  Dr. King  pointed to history  to remind us what happens when laws are twisted to protect only some of the people most of the time, and to further explain his stance in Birmingham, saying: "Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal."   "We have waited for more than 340 years for our constitutional and God given rights.

It was, after all, a Supreme Court ruling,  which made it the "law of the land" that our Afro-American brothers and sisters were non-persons, and therefore, not entitled to the freedoms which emancipated and unrestrained  the rest of society; specifically, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.  They were reduced to "property”.

Since 1973, when the US Supreme Court first declared preborn babies were non-persons and therefore not afforded Constitutional protection,  individuals like myself have led nonviolent protests, marches and vigils trying  raise the conscience of a society who has bought into the lie that women can better control their bodies only by killing their preborn babies.  We are on the public sidewalks outside the abortion clinics.  We reach out to women who believe abortion is their only answer, offer them other real "choices".

These clinics are defined simply as doctor's offices in New Hampshire.  They need no special license, no special designation, no emergency personnel, not even an on-the-premise New Hampshire doctor, who has privilege to practice at a local hospital should there be complications.  By their own fruits and the numerous testimonies offered by their victims, we affirm that the pro choice, keeping abortion safe and legal slogan, is a blatant lie.

We have convinced a number of mothers to choose to keep their babies.  We have offered them real help.  That, of course, takes business away from the clinic.

What other business gets to have a 25-foot protective bubble around their building, and going on to the public sidewalk?  A bubble that prevents taxpaying, law-abiding citizens from walking and talking and praying?

Even polling places, where people go to vote don't have such a restrictive policy.

            King experienced firsthand similar tactics,
and said, "Law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice and when they fail in this purpose they become the dangerously structured dams that block the flow of social progress."  He cited St. Augustine, saying that "an unjust law is no law at all!

God forbid there should be real choices afforded to women in their healthcare.  It seems to me that the only choice they want to protect is the one that kills the babies.

Dr.  King tells us that "our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."  The buffer zone will not silence me or anyone else.  Like the jail sentences experienced by King, it puts a little kink in our efforts, but it is not just and must be challenged.

Dr. King goes on to remind me that "Property is intended to serve life, and no matter how much we surround it with rights and respect, it has no personal being. It is part of the earth man walks on. It is not man.

The public sidewalk is public!  I have a right to walk on it and talk on it and pray while I am walking there.  I know we are not welcomed there, but that is not the issue at hand.  King eloquently points out to all:

"We who in engage in nonviolent direct action are not the creators of tension. We merely bring to the surface the hidden tension that is already alive.

Thank you Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  You helped me understand that we must always continue to pursue justice in the face of oppression because to be silent is to cooperate in the injustice and oppression placed upon our fellow human beings.  I now know exactly what your thoughts would have been about buffer zone laws, Dr. King.  I am glad I asked.

Respectfully,
Barbara J. Hagan

Update on Pennacook St Thursday May 22 2014

Thursday while our elected officials voted to deny us our First Amendment rights; we were busy praying and offering help to women entering Manchester's abortion mill, Planned Parenthood.  Please take the time to call Gov. Hassan at 603-271-2121 and leave a message asking her to VETO SB319 Buffer Zone Bill.

Because we were on the sidewalk next to the driveway we were able to make eye contact and speak with the women and men entering PP.  Around 8:30 one of the women walking into PP kept turning to look at us and said thank you to our offers of help with whatever she needed,  Shortly after 10:30 this woman and her female companion came out and said " you said you would help.' "What can you do to help me?" We walked with the two women up to the Pennacook Pregnancy Center and as promised got her the immediate help she needed. She will keep her baby and the Pregnancy Center will continue to meet her needs.  The PFLC will be holding a baby shower in July.

For a number of reasons she felt desperate and that she had no choice other than to abort her baby. Too many women feel they have no one to turn to for help; we pray there every Thursday and offer support and encouragement so they can make the right "choice" LIFE. Planned Parenthood is in the abortion business to make MONEY, not to HELP women.  We are a small non-profit and cannot compete with the millions of dollars PP has to spend on advertising and lobbying. We put our Trust in God, not money.

Some of us attended the Respect Life Series at St Matthew Church, Windham and we were pleased to hear from our #1 State Rep. Kathy Souza. Speakers are scheduled for the last Thursday of the month, we have them listed in the “Upcoming Events” section.

New Hampshire’s House Bill 1502, calling for collection of abortion statistics, will finally get some follow-up on June 3. Last March, the House voted to send the bill to interim study. Three members of the Health, Human Services & Elderly Affairs committee said they were committed to following through. The public is welcome to attend the committee’s work session on the bill Tuesday, June 3, 3:15 p.m. in room 205 of the Legislative Office Building in Concord.  I think an audience is in order. The more scrutiny this process gets the better.

As always, everyone is welcome to go inside the PFLC to pray on Thursday, to visit and to catch up with what is going on with friends and families

To all, you do make a difference. God knows you are there to honor Him and His creations.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday May 15 2014

Still time for YOU to contact your NH Senator and tell them to defend the First Amendment and vote NON-CONCUR on SB319 Buffer zone Bill.  Better yet contact them individually with a phone call.  Why the rush to push this through to appease PP?  Wait for the Supreme Court's ruling to be announced in less than thirty days.

There is absolutely no justification for a buffer zone outside of PP on Pennacook Street.  We have fifteen to twenty SECONDS to speak and try to get the attention of the people before they enter the abortion facility. We have in that short amount of time helped some women/couples realize that resources are available regardless of their situation. We are very happy to say that their children are alive today and we were there when their mothers', by the grace of God, choose life over abortion.

PP has stated they have a log of complaints against the people praying on the sidewalk yet neglect to say how many complaints patients have made against them. For the record we have a number of people come by to thank us and tell us to keep up the good work.  Thursday morning the interpreter arrived, but left after thirty minutes. Possibly her abortion bound client cancelled or for some other reason her services were not required. Not sure.

A young couple was sent to the Pennacook Pregnancy Center where they received the help they needed.

A big thank you to everyone that donated to the plant sale.

Subject: the buffer zone

The General Court appears on the verge of "solving" a non-existent problem, while creating new problems for the city of Manchester and other communities that have abortion facilities in their midst.  According to newspaper accounts Sen. Soucy introduced the "buffer zone' bill on behalf of the Planned Parenthood facility on Pennacook Street. The abortion foes who protest at the site have not blocked access to it, nor do they assault, physically or verbally, the staff or the clients of that facility. They quietly and prayerfully ask people to reconsider a decision to terminate a human life and they offer literature and advice on alternatives for those with troubled or unwanted pregnancies. There are a number of video cameras attached to the Planned Parenthood building overlooking activities on the sidewalk. If the right-to-life demonstrators have been disturbing the peace or engaged in otherwise disorderly or unlawful conduct during their vigils there, I am sure the Planned Parenthood staff would have produced visual evidence of same. To my knowledge they have not done so.

It is also my understanding that no law enforcement official from any of the affected communities testified in favor of the bill. If the demonstrations were creating a problem at the sites, don't you think the police would be among the first to tell about it? Pass this bill, though, and you will create problems for law enforcement. Precious time, manpower and resources that should be devoted to fighting and preventing real crime will be diverted toward policing the buffer zone and arresting people for standing or walking on a section of a city sidewalk that the General Court of New Hampshire will have effectively ceded to Planned Parenthood.

Think also, please, of the problems for the neighborhood this law would create. The buffer zone will likely move demonstrators down the street where they will be standing with their signs directly in front of the Rite Aid store. I'm [sure] Rite Aid will be delighted with that. If they go directly across the street from the abortion facility, they will be standing on a narrow sidewalk directly in front of residences with narrow front yards. In other words, they will be standing with their signs right in front of people's living room and bedroom windows and chances are those residents won't be too happy about that. Sen. Soucy has said the demonstrators "voices will still be heard" outside the buffer zone. Well, sure, if they shout. That also will likely not be appreciated by the residents. Is there any reason why the wishes of Planned Parenthood should be given greater weight by the legislators than the peace and quiet desired by the people who live in that neighborhood?

A buffer zone enacted by the Massachusetts legislature is now before the U.S. Supreme Court. I'm not a lawyer, but I believe there is a history of court decisions holding that while reasonable restriction on the freedom of speech may be necessary for the peace and safety of a community, such restrictions must not be content-based. I believe the buffer zones are clearly based on the content of the protestors' speech. It is clear who and what is being targeted by this legislation   --  people on one side of what has long been and yet remains a controversial issue of law and public policy. "Health services escorts" and other employees or volunteer agents of Planned Parenthood will be allowed to occupy the space inside the zone that pro-life demonstrators will be forbidden to enter. It is within the power of the legislators to pass a bill that virtually cries out to the courts, "Call me unconstitutional." But it would be foolish to do so. It is hard to imagine a bill more fit for the designation, "Inexpedient to legislate."

If your own conscience does not move you to actively oppose the deliberate planned killing of innocent pre-born (or even partially born) babies, please don't vote to abridge the First Amendment rights of those who do. Please don't vote to declare to the people of New Hampshire and the rest of the world that the General Court of New Hampshire has as little respect for liberty as it has for life.

Sincerely,

Update on Pennacook St Thursday May 8 2014

Just before noon the volunteer escort for PP was leaving she stopped and replied to a question about her duties on abortion day; she replied "I am proud of the work I do for this organization." For those of you who have not been to Pennacook Street, her "work" is to escort the people to the entrance, while advising them to ignore any offers of assistance from the people holding a prayer vigil on the public sidewalk.

One man waiting in the PP lot insisted on telling us: "you don't know, you don't understand. My daughter is coming here for an abortion and you better not say anything to her. "He decided to impress that on us as he started towards us with his fists raised, then as if he hit a wall he went back to sit in his SUV.  His two daughters and their mother arrived and the abortion was performed as scheduled. He just could not let go of his anger and when he was leaving he told one sidewalk counselor "you are going to hell" and then turned to another woman he told her the same thing. He also gave us a written note reiterating his comments that "Jesus forgives all things."

The male companion of a young woman was very concerned for his friend and wanted her to talk to someone before having an abortion. She told us she had an appointment for an abortion, but she hadn't taken a pregnancy test and wasn't sure she was pregnant. She was afraid she would lose her job because she was only temporary and had months to go before becoming a permanent employee. So much for counseling and the patient's best interest.  Call, schedule the appointment, show up with money and because the abortion is done in an office building (albeit an unlicensed, non-inspected, unregulated facility), that makes it "safe and legal"?

The bill that keeps getting amended will be voted on by the House Wednesday, May 14th or possibly Thursday, May 15th, depending on the bills being presented. If you were present at the hearing last week you heard the testimony of certain reps. that abutters and area residents should NOT be notified and should have NO input in regards to the effects of SB 319 Buffer Zone Bill.

Time for people to tell your representative “you work for us not Planned Parenthood”.  Read the First Amendment and stand up for those of us who stand up week after week on the public sidewalk outside the abortion mill.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday May 1 2014

A young girl and her boyfriend came out of Planned Parenthood after her abortion with PP’s young female escort. The girl was crying, the boy looked somber, and the escort looked like everything was just fine. They must have been parked in the Rite-Aid parking lot because the three walked in that direction past the prayer volunteers. As the escort left them to go back into PP, she said, “Have a nice rest of your day.” The volunteers were flabbergasted by such a trivial remark after a procedure that killed an unborn baby and clearly upset the mother. This underscores the severe lack of understanding about what abortion is – even for the employees of PP.  “ [Forgive them Lord, they know not what they do]".

Background Info - Prayer volunteers from this parish and parishes from all over our Diocese pray outside the Planned Parenthood clinic in Manchester and offer assistance to women unsure about their decision to abort. These stories are their eyewitness accounts. There are 20 to 30 surgical abortions performed every Thursday. Voices outside Manchester's Planned Parenthood

She reached to open the door to the abortion mill, stopped and turned to the people praying and said "I'm here. I'm getting rid of it. @#%&”

Two young woman took the time to take the baby life sign, throw it to the pavement and curse out the owner of the sign.  Their language was just as vile when they exited PP.

Calling All Cops!

In the April 22 House Judiciary Committee hearing on the bill to establish no-trespass “buffer zones” on public ways abutting abortion clinic sites, there was testimony that police had been called 10 times over protests at the Planned Parenthood facility on Pennacook Street in Manchester. Yet none of those calls resulted in an arrest. And it has also been observed that there was no testimony in favor of the bill from police officials in any of the communities that have abortion facilities. It kind of makes you wonder what kind of lawlessness would move people at Planned Parenthood to call the police. I found out on Saturday morning, May 3, when I was one of just four people engaged in silent protest on Pennacook Street.

A uniformed security guard came out of the parking lot and approached me at a moment when I was standing by the entrance and told me that since there was an assembly of four of us, a minimum of two would have to be moving and not standing still at any time. We could work it out among ourselves who would be walking and who may be standing still. That is required by city ordinance, he said. He then went back onto the site and disappeared. When he reappeared near the entrance to the parking lot, I asked him if he were with the Manchester Police.

“No, I am not,” he said. At that point I was near him, so I stopped walking long enough to ask another question.

“Then what is your authority for enforcing city ordinances?”

“Oh, now don’t make me call the police,” he warned, adding the police would not appreciate having to come to the site over a mere four people.

“You would call the police because I asked you what your authority is?” I asked.

“No, I’d call the police because you’re not moving,” he replied.

To both keep moving and continue the face-to-face conversation, I had to back peddle because I didn’t think the gentleman would welcome an invitation to walk along with me.

“Is there an ordinance against walking backwards?” I asked.

“No,” he said. The city’s alderman must have somehow overlooked the possibility of outlawing the nefarious deed of walking backwards on a city sidewalk.

I admit I had heard before about the requirement to keep moving, but I had forgotten it until the guard called it to my attention. As long as one is not interfering with anyone else’s right to the sidewalk or blocking an entrance or an egress or otherwise interfering with either vehicular or pedestrian traffic, it is difficult for me to understand how standing still on a city sidewalk is a threat to peace and safety in our fair city. But apparently the Board of Mayor and Alderman decided at some point that it is.

And that is the kind of danger that the peaceful protests of abortion foes pose to Planned Parenthood’s deadly operations. As Greg Salts pointed out in his excellent video presentation, (http://leavenfortheloaf.com/2014/04/30/nh-house-committee-delays-buffer-zone-vote/) the site has surveillance cameras overlooking the area in front of its property. Had there been any real lawlessness by pro-life demonstrators, Planned Parenthood and their lawyers would surely have produced photographic evidence of it. There obviously is none, so they dwell on their calls to police to deal with obdurate terrorists like me who dare to stop walking long enough to pose a question about the ordinance.

Scary stuff.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday April 24 2014

Thank you to all those who testified today against SB 319 Buffer Zone Bill. We certainly outnumbered the pro-abortion speakers.  The Judiciary Committee will announce their recommendation between noon and 1:00 P M Wednesday, April 30th.  Reason and logic would ascertain SB319 is in direct violation of the First Amendment, but after speaking with some of the committee members it was perfectly clear their allegiance is to the abortion industry not the Constitutional rights of pro-life individuals

The workers from PP say they are intimidated by the people praying , then why do they choose to park on the street when they have an employee parking lot?
Why do they want to walk near the people praying on the sidewalk?
The sidewalk is constantly monitored by the cameras PP has installed on the outside of the building. They have no evidence of any intimidation or harassment.
On April 22, the representative from PP testified they have people reading this blog and have been unable to find a reason to take legal action to stop us from.stating our observations.

Thursday morning a young woman walked over to talk with us before she went in for her abortion appointment.  She was dropped off by a friend. When her friend came back we had a long conversation. He was not the baby's father, just a friend. He took several brochures and brought them into PP.  The two of them had recently gone to visit her sister and new born at the hospital. We talked about how the sisters could babysit for each other and how the cousins would be close in age and play together. They came out at 10 00 and sped out of the parking lot. We don't know if she kept her appointment with the abortionist.

Last week a woman told us she had to have an abortion, because she was joining the Coast Guard. She said we should thank her because she would be defending our right to speak our opinions.  Really????

Update on Pennacook St Thursday April 10 2014

Fewer abortions Thursday. It’s unusual to see the employees leave before 5:00pm. They did have an employee from their NY Headquarters there for the day, which may be related to the fact that the abortionist had to come to Manchester on both Wednesday and Thursday two weeks ago.

The security guard was apoplectic when he saw someone turning around in the street and the tires of their vehicle touched the faded orange line that designates PP's property.

Last fall we were asked to watch for a mother with her sixteen year old daughter. We did try to speak with them before they went inside. They came out after several hours and drove off. We have just learned that the teenager changed her mind that day and the baby is due soon.

Thank you for praying and being a visible witness for the sanctity of life.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday April 3 2014

Thursday morning a middle aged couple drove into Planned Parenthood's parking lot with a young woman in the back seat.  The driver opened the rear door and then escorted the woman into the building, ignoring our offers of help.  In the matter of a few minutes the man came out and before he drove off he glared at us and said "you don't know; you have no idea."

It was about an hour later when the woman walked out to the sidewalk and we had a chance to speak with her.  We asked “how can we help you?” We told her that the man who dropped her off was very angry when he left. She was very concerned and said "that was my dad, did he say something to you?"  Then she said "I didn't have the abortion - I couldn't do it."  She walked down to Elm St and called to be picked up. She told us her name and we will pray for her and her family.

A young woman who was there with her three year old daughter come over to talk with us after her friend went inside for an abortion.  She said “I'll take whatever information you have.” Her story went like this: "I'm pro-choice. I had an abortion, when I was sixteen and I'm good with it.  I was too young and it was the right thing to do”. As the conversation continued she said "I have a three year old daughter and the father wanted me to have an abortion and I told him no. I will never have another abortion. The pain hurt so much, it was the worst thing I have ever done and I will never have another abortion."

I am sure this was the first time she ever admitted how much pain she felt and the regret she carries. We gave information for post-abortive healing.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Mar 27 2014

Three young women in an old car with plastic replacing one of the windows drove into the Planned Parenthood parking lot. They yelled at the prayer volunteers, and the driver said, “I had an abortion and I’m good with it.” She and another woman left their friend for her abortion appointment. The mother of the girl having the abortion came by later to "support her."  She stood chatting with the guard for 45 minutes before going inside to check on her daughter.

Five hours later the beat up car returned with the women in a more somber attitude. The driver revealed she is the sister of the girl having the abortion, and apologized for “mouthing off” to the volunteers. She said her sister is addicted to heroin and other drugs, and was told the baby would have medical problems as a result. She had also lost custody of her three other children. The driver said she loves her sister and is afraid the drug abuse will kill her. She shared that she is also addicted to drugs but has been clean for 7 months and can see her children now.

A woman driving into PP said, "I just have to thank you for being so respectful.”  She was seeking birth control pills. A volunteer spoke in Spanish to a woman turned away from PP. She was trying to get paperwork for the Affordable Care Act. She said PP didn’t have anyone to translate – even though it is supposed to be a health care “navigator.”

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Mar 20 2014

The prior Thursday, the prayer volunteers saw a couple leave Planned Parenthood to get more money, but by the time they returned it was 4 p.m. and too late for an abortion. This past week they returned. Both times the volunteers spoke with them they insisted they weren’t there for an abortion, and said, “That isn’t all they do here.” However, at a recent NH State House hearing, the PP representative was asked if it was true that only abortion services were rendered on Thursdays. She replied, “Yes.”

The picture of baby James is up on the website (his baby shower was Jan 12th).

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Mar 13 2014

It was a stormy Thursday morning (abortion day). But the frigid temps didn't stop 25 mothers from going to PP to abort their babies. Some of what we witnessed: a mother bringing her daughter for an abortion; a husband and wife bringing their daughter for an abortion; a very young teenage girl arriving for her abortion appointment accompanied by both her boyfriend and her mother.  Then at noontime, a delivery of birthday balloons and flowers arrive for the abortionist. Such irony!!  There will never be any balloons or flowers for the many babies she has aborted.

Any day except Thursday (abortion day), the people going to PP are not totally stressed. They are curious to talk to us about why we are there and what kind of brochures we are handing out.

Monday afternoon, within just a single hour, all the women and men leaving PP stopped to talk and listen.  One young mother with her 2 little boys said "I do babies I don't do abortions."  A salesman driving out stopped and told us he and his wife have been trying for years to conceive a baby and he can't understand why so many babies are unwanted.  A couple with 3 small children was truly upset to hear that abortions were done in the building they had just left.

March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day.  Did you know that ninety percent of babies showing signs of Down Syndrome are aborted?

Pray For Life Center will be having a plant sale in the Spring. When you are thinning out your garden flowers please consider donating them to the PFLC. With the threat of a buffer zone looming over us we humbly ask you for financial support to keep the Center open. Please consider a donation of $10.00 or more to help pay the rent and utilities. The Pray For Life Center is a 501(c)3 and all donations are tax deductible.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Mar 6 2014

A man walked by the prayer volunteers and said, “I agree with what you are doing.” He was at Planned Parenthood to meet two women who had arrived earlier and were already inside for an abortion appointment. He was with another woman, and they both repeatedly expressed their opposition to their friend having an abortion but they could not change her mind.

Later, the Union Leader sent a reporter to interview a neighbor that called to complain about the proposed buffer zone. He has always been friendly with the volunteers, but is understandably upset with the idea of a line painted on the street in front of his house, along with signs posted prohibiting pro-life people from the marked area. The reporter also spoke to the prayer volunteers.

Two teachers and a group of students from Holy Family Academy joined the prayer vigil outside of PP.  Beforehand, they presented the staff of the Pennacook Pregnancy Center with a much appreciated donation. The kick-off of the 40 Days for Life vigil has brought new and familiar faces to Pennacook Street. Thank you to all participants.

Prayer volunteers from this parish and parishes from all over our Diocese pray outside the Planned Parenthood clinic in Manchester and offer assistance to women unsure about their decision to abort. These stories are their eyewitness accounts. There are 20 to 30 surgical abortions performed every Thursday. For more information about how you can help save women and babies from abortion via the newly opened Pennacook Pregnancy Center, contact Cathy Kelley at 483.5177 or catkelley@comcast.net. Update on Pennacook St Thursday Feb 27 2014

It never warmed up Thursday, but we did get to talk to a number of people - some as they entered PP - others as they stopped to talk to us before driving away.

Thursday morning, a couple in a rust covered car were among the first to go into PP. The woman was obviously pregnant.  The man looked angry as they drove away after only being inside for 20 -30 minutes.

One woman stopped to say she didn't believe in abortion. She was just there for birth control pills. We had a long talk and explained how the pill works as an abortifacient. She said she wasn't married and was being responsible. She was upset to hear abortions were being done while we spoke.  "Taking responsibility" is the phrase we hear now as the reason for an abortion.

An elderly man stopped and told us he agreed with us and thanked us. He told us he was just there for condoms, (don't ask).

We try to stay until all the women come out, so we can offer them brochures for healing after an abortion.  Some weeks we wait until after dark; only to be told to "get a job" or receive an obscene gesture. But most times the women and men that come out last are grateful to be handed a Rachel's Vineyard brochure or other post abortive information.

Thank you to seminarian Ryan Brady for braving the cold to lead us in praying the rosary. We really appreciate it.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Feb 20 2014

Baby James was born on Feb.16, 2014 weighing in at 10 lbs 14 oz. His mother Cassie brought baby James to the Pennacook Pregnancy Center Friday.  He is absolutely beautiful. Both Mom and baby are doing very well.

Cassie is very grateful for all the gifts she received at the baby shower. She wants everyone to know how much she appreciates the support she has received. She was really overwhelmed by the outpouring of love she felt at the shower. Baby picture will be posted.

Once again on Thursday, the sidewalk outside of PP was impassable until we shoveled it.

A teenage boy and girl stopped and talked for a long time. The girl was adopted and had some problems in the past and was afraid her parents would throw her out if they found out she was pregnant. We offered her a place to stay and to get her all the help she would need. She was crying and said they understood all the ramifications of having an abortion. The boy asked several times for us to pray for them.  Pray we did. That is why we are there. We pray for everyone that goes into PP including the employees.  They said they were going in for counseling. They went in at 12:30 and came out at 4:50 and accepted a brochure and once again asked for prayers.

After a couple of trips to the State House I realized it is necessary to explain why we are outside of the abortion facility on Pennacook St.   We are there to perform the Spiritual Works of Mercy:

Admonish the sinner

Instruct the ignorant

Counsel the doubtful

Comfort the sorrowful

Bear wrongs patiently

Forgive all injuries

Pray for the living and dead

To paraphrase Saint James 2:14-26 “I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works.”

Senate Bill 319 Buffer Zone was passed by the Senate and will go to the House for a final vote. It is urgent that you contact your representatives and tell them that you vote and that you oppose a buffer zone. It is in direct violation of the First Amendment – our right to free speech. This specific Bill 319 is aimed at only one group of people – pro-lifers who want to speak for the right to life on the public sidewalk. This bill is targeted to prevent them from even walking on the public sidewalk near any planned parenthood abortion facility and even from parking their cars in that area on the public street.  To find your New Hampshire Representative click here.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Feb 13 2014

Thursday's storm didn't stop our faithful volunteers from praying outside of Planned Parenthood, but it did decrease the number of abortions. When one young couple was asked if they needed any help, the man turned to us and said "yeah - you gotta coat hanger." They went into Planned Parenthood. Five minutes later as we watched them leave, the man looked at us and said "you probably don't believe in condoms either".

A woman and a very sad looking man walked into the parking lot. The man said “I will talk to you when I come out”. He came out a short while and talked with us; then walked down to Elm St.  When he walked back hours later he said "it's too late - it's done." He talked for awhile. He said the baby had something wrong and that there was a family history of lupus and other medical issues. Whether he believed what he told us, we have no way of knowing, but we do know there is NO REASON TO kill a baby.

It had been snowing all morning and we thought it was odd when two women drove by with bicycles hanging out of the trunk. Well a couple of minutes later they drove back and we got to meet them as they crashed into the snow bank in front PP's fence. No one was hurt. The good news is they didn't keep the appointment at PP.  Pray they do not return next Thursday.

Another car went by us. We could see a man driving and a woman in the backseat sitting next to a little baby in a car seat. She got out and went into PP.  When he came back later to pick her up she got into the back seat next the baby - whose sibling had just been murdered inside Planned Parenthood.

There were more life issue bills in Concord this past week and another one Thursday 2/20/14. Please try to stay informed and call, email or go and testify in support of life affirming bills.

WMUR had a story on Saturday morning about the Christmas Miracle Baby. Coralee was born 15 weeks early, weighing one pound five ounces, and not expected to live.  Her parents are from Concord, N.H. but are currently stationed in Georgia.  The doctors removed Coralee from the incubator and told her parents to hold her in her final few hours. Within minutes of being in her mother's arms, Coralee’s oxygen levels soared. The doctors were amazed. Family members took turns holding Coralee during the next 72 hours. She continues to improve and the family is asking for prayers.

2014 02 13 car crash

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Feb 6 2014

Thursday - people were kept waiting longer than usual as the abortionist didn't arrive till 10:30am.  A mother from Maine parked on the street and hurried to help her teenage daughter out of the car. The young girl was bent over as she rushed into the building.  The whole time the mother had tears streaming down her face as she got back into the car and moved it into the parking lot. When she went into PP she was carrying a large pillow and a blanket. Don't know if her daughter was in pain or physically ill or emotionally distraught. They were in there for hours.  We didn't see them leave.  Some employees were still inside the building at 8:00pm.

Some of our faithful prayer volunteers were in Concord, to testify in support of HB1501. This Bill requires the licensing of all outpatient abortion facilities. Shocking to realize abortion "clinics" are exempt from the safety requirements (license, inspections, and regulations) that all other Health/Medical Providers must adhere to.

One man waited in his SUV for 5 hours; another man went to get pizza. Some just drop the woman off and come back after the abortion.  Some women drive in alone, some walk in alone and many walk out alone. Such sad sights. Fewer abortion customers than usual - maybe because of the snowstorm.

Planned Parenthood is back to one security guard. They added a Manchester Police Officer Detail for January so they could complain at the SB319 Buffer Zone Hearing about how much money they need to spend on security.  Not much for them to do outside PP.  As the testimony on SB319 showed, the only violence on Pennacook Street occurs inside Planned Parenthood.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Jan 30 2014

She parked on the street and waited for the young couple to park their old pickup truck. Then she led them past us and said "I'm a nurse - I know all about it."  There was no doubt she was there to make sure they wouldn't leave without aborting their baby.  Hours later when they came out it was a different story. She came out of Planned Parenthood at the same time as the couple. But it appeared she no longer had any interest in them. It was okay for us to talk to them now, her work was done.  She just got into her car and drove off.

A woman waited 45 minutes for a ride home after her abortion. She was from Maine and had been dropped off earlier in the morning by her best friend – a man.  But she said she was sure “he” (the father of the aborted baby) would be coming instead to drive her back home. “He” did show up and their conversation went something like this: “I won't let anyone hurt you.” She replied “you know how he worries about me.”  Read between the lines. The father of the baby has so much concern for her that he lets another man take her to have an invasive procedure to kill his and her baby.

Thanks to everyone who testified against the Senate Bill 319 Buffer Zone Bill outside reproductive health care facilities ( a.k.a abortion mills).  Very interesting that one of the complaints PP made was that they spent forty-four thousand dollars for security guards in 2013. But on Friday 1/31/14 they still had plenty of money left to install another surveillance camera above their employees’ parking lot.

It’s time to get informed and to speak out against a number of anti-life bills being heard in Concord.

Of particular interest to us is Senate Bill 319 the Buffer Zone Bill.  (There is still time to email)

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Jan 23 2014

Everyone who has prayed on Pennacook Street, please come to the Concord Statehouse on Tuesday Jan 28th at 9:55am, room 100 to testify against Senate Bill 319 creating a 25 foot buffer zone outside of Planned Parenthood and other abortion mills.  It is a gross violation of your freedom to pray, speak, and/or demonstrate on PUBLIC PROPERY. Click here for detailed pro-life information and how to sign up to testify.

This will prevent prayer volunteers from offering help to those who feel – or are told – that abortion is their only choice.  If the State is allowed to keep a certain group of people off a PUBLIC sidewalk, who or what is next?  Unlike the babies in the womb who cannot speak for themselves, we shall speak and demand our rights under the First and Fourteenth AmendmentsWhatever happened to Life Free or Die?

132:38 Prohibited Acts.

I. No person shall knowingly enter or remain on a public way or sidewalk adjacent to a reproductive health care facility within a radius of 25 feet of any portion of an entrance, exit, or driveway.. of a reproductive health care facility...

II. Reproductive health care facilities shall clearly demarcate the zone established in paragraph one and post such zone with signage containing the following language:

Reproductive Health Center

Patient Safety Zone

No Congregating, Patrolling, Picketing, or Demonstrating Between Signs

Pursuant to RSA 132:38

Please contact members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and encourage them to OPPOSE SB 319.

It is 7:35am and the first car with 2 young women inside is parked in the lot.  It was about 5 degrees, but the driver came to the sidewalk to talk and accept some literature. She said "I am not ready to have a child."  She said she was not emotionally stable enough and thought adoption would be too difficult to handle. She went in to get the RU486  (chemical abortion) which allows you to leave and have the abortion at home. (Think that might be difficult to handle?)

There was another "medical person" from Vermont to assist the regular abortionist.. Just maybe because the previous Thursday things didn't go well.

This day we noticed most of the women going in for an abortion appeared to be in their thirties. One car had 2 baby car seats in the back. We see that a lot - 1 or 2 car seats. They certainly know that they are killing a baby.

In late afternoon we watched a woman move her car from the opposite side of the driveway to the entrance. It is never a good thing when they do that. We watched her help her friend walk the few feet to the car. When they drove past us we could see the passenger crying with her hands on her stomach.  A lot of the women leave crying

One man waited for hours with a very young child in the vehicle. Children are not allowed inside the building on Thursdays. Women may have a change of heart if they see little children and think about what they are doing to their little one.

March For Life in Concord went well despite the weather. Over 400 pro-lifers prayed as they walked from the Statehouse down the side street past the oldest abortion mill in NH (The Concord Feminist Center) to St John The Evangelist Church.

The March in Washington D.C. had over half a million people of all ages brave the snow and the cold to protest the unjust legalization of abortion.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Jan 16 2014

Busy day Thursday. The parking lot was full all day. At 5:00pm twelve of the more than 2 dozen abortion bound women were still inside the abortion mill. The very good news is that two babies’ lives were spared. A young couple parked in the adjacent lot and for an hour the woman cried and talked on her phone, before making the choice for life. We were glad when we saw them drive away.

Another woman stopped her van across the street from PP and sat there with the engine running. She was crying and obviously distraught.  A couple of the women praying saw her crying and asked if they could help her. She said she had a lot going on and had financial problems. They told her about the nearby pregnancy center where women who truly care would provide her with help and resources.  A few minutes later she drove off.  Please say a prayer for these two women and their babies.

The young woman who had aborted her baby several hours earlier returned. The young man, who had driven her there in the morning, lifted her out of the car and carried her into PP. They remained inside for more than an hour. When they came out she was bent over and walked very slowly to the car.

Monsignor Frontiero and seminarian Ryan Brady stood on the sidewalk and joined us in praying the rosary for all pregnant women and their babies. We also prayed for the conversion of all those involved in the murder of the unborn.

Godspeed to everyone going to the March For Life in Washington.

Please consider becoming a sidewalk counselor.  Fortunately, this day we had enough counselors to stand near the entrance of the parking lot and talk to the two women (who ultimately chose life) who were in vehicles at opposite ends of the building. Attention all ladies. If you are interested in doing pregnancy crisis counseling please contact Cathy Kelley catkelley@comcast.net

Please pray for the defeat of the recently introduced NH Senate Bill 319-FN, which aims to establish a statewide 25-foot buffer zone outside all New Hampshire reproductive health care facilities.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Jan 9 2014

Thursday is a big money day for Planned Parenthood.  Cash is a good way to retain anonymity. This week the security guard Sgt. Mark was joined by one of our friends from the Manchester Police Dept.  A number of robberies have occurred in the neighborhood in the past month - a small bakery, two hair salons and most recently a nearby bank last Friday at 5:30pm.

Business was slower than usual this Thursday.  A man and two women arriving in a car with Mass plates stayed inside for an hour and left 40 minutes before the nurse practitioner/abortionist arrived. One man showed us pictures of his 4 year old daughter and said his wife was there to have cysts removed. Several women took the time to tell us they were they to get birth control. One woman talked to us for a long time and told us she was told to come back for Mirena (IUD).  She was unaware of all the pending lawsuits from women who used this product.  We answered the questions she had about adoptions.

The Pray For Life Center and the Pennacook Pregnancy Center held a baby shower Sunday for 17-year-old Kassie, who is expecting baby boy James in February. She very much appreciated the generous outpouring of gifts from her new friends in the pro-life community.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Jan 2 2014

Schools were closed and people were warned about slippery roads, but it was business as usual at PP. It snowed all day and was a bitter cold 9 °F as we stood on the sidewalk and watched the cars fill up the parking lot. Two women from Maine were the first to arrive, followed by a black Lexus SUV with mother and pregnant daughter.  We try to speak with everyone as soon as they get out of their vehicles.

At 8:30am a white truck with plow attached parked in the lot. The man went inside, waited 30 minutes, then left. He was back again at 2 pm.  Parked on the street, with wallet in hand, he went right to the young girls waiting in a small car in the parking lot.  He had a lot to say to us before he got back into his truck.  He told us “I’m here to pay for my daughter's abortion. I paid for one that wasn't mine." We didn’t know if he meant he paid for child support or for an abortion.  "I have had my kids. Women can't afford to pay for kids and the fathers don't pay.”  Why don't the fathers have to pay?

Six cars with Mass plates this Thursday. We usually see 3 or 4 from Mass.  The last couple to arrive parked on the street and stopped to take our brochures. They came out hours later after the abortion, looking very sad.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Dec 26 2013

By noontime Thursday, 4 of the 11 abortion bound women had left after their abortion. During the very snowy afternoon 10 more women arrived.

Last Thursday, December 19th a woman from Maine give us a picture of the ultrasound of her baby. On the back of the ultrasound picture is written:

Date of Death

12/19/13 7 wks

3 days old

Product of Rape

She was angry going in and just as angry when she left. Please pray for her and the innocent victim of abortion - her dead baby.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Dec 19 2013

Thursday morning the sidewalk is covered by a foot of snow with a 3 foot high mound of snow just a few feet from the parking lot entrance.  We barely have enough room to walk on either side of the entrance.

A man driving a gray truck with NH Veteran license plates stops and a woman gets out, looks at us and asks "are you a veteran?" The reply is yes, but she yells over "you have no right to say anything." It is sad and hard to understand how the young vets sacrifice so much to defend people's right to life and freedom and then deny the same rights to their unborn children.

One woman arrived at 8:00am and waited inside till 9:35am.  She left at 9:40 five minutes after the abortionist arrived. She was either turned away or changed her mind.  Another woman left after her friend, who had an appointment for an abortion, did not show up. She looked angry. As she drove off we noticed her rear window decal.  - Love Your Mother -.

It was a strange day.  A lot fewer abortions than usual.  Abortion as usual next Thursday December 26th.

Take a look at the December 14th pictures showing the Icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa on the sidewalk outside of the abortion mill.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Dec 12 2013

December 12th, the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The temperature was frigid at 5 degrees. It is 7:40am.  Two women in a gold van arrive. When they try to get into Planned Parenthood they find the door locked. They go in at 8:00.  A mother and her sixteen year old daughter never look at us as they go in to keep the teenager's appointment to kill her baby. A young couple waits for an older man who comes in a big landscaping truck.  Before the couple goes inside the young man says she is there for a job interview.  When they come out to smoke the man has a new story. He says she had a miscarriage, but he wasn't sure when.  She said she didn't have insurance. He finally leaves and comes back 4 hours later and picks her up. A black Mercedes SUV, Mass plates, parks in the lot and the blonde driver dressed to the 9's goes in and has an abortion. The cars keep coming - women alone – couples - some women have 3 or 4 people with them.  Very difficult to get people to stand and talk when it is so very cold, but we did manage to send a young woman to the Pennacook Pregnancy Center.

The Pot luck supper was a good time, lots of people with lots of laughs. The roads were a little icy. Sorry the weather kept even more from coming.

Saturday morning the beautiful icon of Our Lady Czestochowa was carried to the sidewalk outside of PP. The procession was lead by Father Peter West from Human Life International. To be able to hold a procession in that kind of weather and still get 33 people made for a great day. I know that Our Lady was happy.

Hope some of you were able to see Cardinal Raymond Burke, Canon lawyer, on EWTN with his message of Respect human life, respect integrity of the family and respect conscience.  How about Bishop Tobin of  Providence, R.I. praying in front of the Rhode Island’s Planned Parenthood?

The Pray For Life Center and the Pennacook Pregnancy Center are joining together for a baby shower for a teenage expectant mother.  Her baby boy is due in February.  The baby shower will be at the Pray For Life Center, 27 Pennacook St. on Sunday Jan. 12th at 1:30 P.M. All ladies are invited. Gifts may be dropped off on Thursdays at the PFLC or at the Pregnancy Center 657 Chestnut St. Mon-Fri 10-4

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Dec 5 2013

Planned Parenthood is a New Hampshire health insurance “navigator” for the Affordable Care Act, so many new customers are going there with their personal information to register for health insurance. Last Thursday, a man from Florida stayed for two hours to make sure the woman he met (who had driven herself an hour earlier) went through with her abortion. Once he was certain it was taking place, he left. Another young woman stopped to take pro-life brochures from the prayer volunteers and said she was getting the information for a friend. Then she went in and had an abortion.

For more information about how you can help save women and babies from abortion via the newly opened Pennacook Pregnancy Center on Chestnut Street, contact Cathy Kelley at 483.5177 or catkelley@comcast.net. THE “BLACK MADONNA” TO VISIT SAINT JOSEPH CATHEDRAL Dec 14th Sat  8:00am

Join us and Father Peter West this Saturday, December 14! Helpers prayer vigil, with an image of the Black Madonna icon, this Saturday 12/14    The icon of “Our Lady of Czestochowa” (“the Black Madonna”) is reputed to have been “written” on Mary’s table top from her house in Nazareth by Luke the Evangelist.  She has been credited with numerous miracles and healings – both of a spiritual and physical nature. A beautiful copy of this icon has been blessed and consecrated at the monastery of Jasna Gora in Poland, where the original is kept, and entrusted to the defense of life and family. Now, after traveling 40,000 miles from Vladivostok in Russia through 24 countries in Europe, she will be visiting Saint Joseph Cathedral, the weekend of December 14-15, on her global pilgrimage. Please join us as we welcome her to Saint Joseph Cathedral to ask for her protection of life and family as well as personal petitions. Due to renovations at the Saint Joseph Cathedral Chapel, a welcoming Mass will be held, Saturday, December 14th, at 8:00 am, with Helpers of God's Precious Infants, at Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, at the corner of Lowell and Walnut Streets in Manchester, (1/2 block down Lowell from the Saint Joseph Rectory.) After Mass, we will have a public procession to Planned Parenthood on 24 Pennacook Street. Please plan to join us! For more information please e-mail; Bob Melnyk:robertmelnyk70@gmail.com. Update on Pennacook St Thursday Nov 21 2013

The first to arrive, a man and a woman, came in separate vehicles with Mass plates, but walked in together. The parking lot was quickly filled with 5 cars from Mass, a van from Vermont, an SUV from Maine, a car with Texas plates and cars with NH license plates. The abortionist arrived at 9:45am in a green hybrid with Vermont plates and a blue “PEACE” bumper sticker. Does she think about “PEACE” for the infants in the womb as she kills them, ripping them to PIECES as she inserts the tube and turns on the suction machine?

For several months a woman has stopped her car to yell "shame" at us. She is right! Shame on us for having an abortion mill operating in Manchester for over a decade.

Don't let the cold weather keep you from defending the most basic human right -- LIFE.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Nov 14 2013

Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/PrayForLifeCenter

Early morning, (7:35am) a green Prius driven by a man who appeared to be in his hi-sixties, arrived at PP accompanied by a very young looking teenager. They found the door locked. As they were returning to the car the man said to us “give me what you are handing out”. We watched as they drove off and could see the young girl reading the brochure. At 8:00am they were back and went inside as soon as the abortion mill unlocked the door. Hours later when they left we could see the brochure on the dash, and could not miss the - oh so smug - look on the old man's face. Makes you wonder how old the girl is and what their connection is.

A young couple went inside, but the man came back to speak with us. He was not for abortion, but said it was her decision. When they came out he said "it's done" and they walked away.

As the morning went on we watched a bald headed man park his bright yellow Hummer and go alone into Planned Parenthood.  We see this quite often - the man and woman arrive in separate vehicles. This makes for an easy way to end a "relationship" after he is sure he will not be paying for child support.  He walked out later with 2 women who left in a beat up van. He drove off in one direction and they headed off in another.

A woman got out of her SUV and started yelling "why don't you go work in the soup kitchen". When she was leaving after her abortion she stopped and said “In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus sanctus - God hates you" followed by some unrepeatable expletives.

Late in the afternoon we were able to direct a woman away from the abortion mill to the new Pennacook Pregnancy Center.

Thank you Deacon Frank and the Staff from St Marie's for joining our prayer vigil this week.

We will hold prayer vigils on Thursday 11/21 AND Friday 11/22 since the abortion mill will not be killing babies Thanksgiving Week. Please join with us on either or both days.

On Wednesday Nov. 20th, please join other young single and married Catholics in their 20's and 30's at URL For Christ at the Coffee House At Midtown Cafe, 7:00pm, 814 Elm St, Manchester, N H (the Beacon Building).

Three of us were standing outside PP just before 8:00am when 2 women in a SUV with Vermont Plates drove by. We questioned whether they were coming to PP. We could see them go up a block, pull into a lot and then drive out headed back in the same direction. Well - a few minutes later they were back and drove into the PP lot. The driver went inside followed by a tall, slim young woman who took long strides to catch up to her companion. Three hours later we watched the same tall, slim young woman come out bent over and unable to walk without assistance from her companion, a PP employee and the security guard.

A man and a woman parked in the lot. The woman came to talk and see what we were handing out. Natives of Nepal, the woman understood enough English to ask questions about the Precious Infant pin she was offered. She asked "2 months?'  Her husband would not speak with us and after a few minutes she went in and kept her abortion appointment.

The very young looking person in the purple hoodie did finally go in and have an abortion. She was waiting for her boyfriend who took the bus up from Boston. He is 22 and said she is 18. Of course he also said she was here at PP for some kind of yeast problem.  He was very polite and you really have to wonder if he really believed what he told us.

By noontime 15 women were inside, and they kept coming till the last one arrived at 3:00pm. The last couple to arrive had yellow and green license plates in support of “Maine Agriculture”.  They were the last to leave at 5:50pm, the same time the Nurse Practitioner Abortionist, Jennifer C. drove off.  It was dark by this time and I was very happy to be joined by 5 students from Thomas More College who prayed and sang hymns.

I just finished reading a new book called “Recall Abortion” by Janet Morana, Executive Director of Priests for Life and Co-Founder of Silent No More Awareness Campaign.  In her book, Janet “exposes the myriad ways abortion exploits women, and calls for a national recall of this deadly procedure. She documents the way abortion risks and degrades women's health. And she exposes the false promises and lies by which it is pushed and sold.” Please sign her on-line petition to recall abortion.  Every time you read one of these books you know why you stand on that sidewalk.

November is Adoption Awareness Month.

Although the parking lot was almost empty, the two young women parked out on the street and walked by us to enter Planned Parenthood. They refused our request to stop for a minute and look at the pamphlets we offered. A short time later they came out. It appears they were turned away for some reason. Last week a couple from Mass. left with paper work, but did not have an abortion. Manchester PP does abortions up to 15 weeks 6 days and refers women over 4 months to another facility. A young man rode his bicycle into the parking lot, went inside and came out hours later with a girl that had an abortion

An employee from Vermont on her way in to the abortion mill told us she was a" student". She stayed most of the day and was somehow involved assisting the abortionist, a nurse practitioner from Vermont.

Father Larochelle and Deacon Frank from Ste Marie's joined us in praying the rosary.  It is encouraging to watch the mothers and their young children walking and praying for the babies. Recently a father told us that his son, a dentist, was called in to remove the 2 front teeth from a 9 HOUR old infant to prevent the newborn from choking. Amazing.

An orange line has been painted to mark the property line to make sure we are aware not to step onto the abortion mill's property. For the past several weeks some PP employees have been parking on the street instead of the private lot, providing us with an opportunity to talk to them about what they are doing and offering them help to find other work. They obviously do not find us intimidating or offensive, and enjoy hearing our advice.

Thank you to those who leave donations in the PFLC. We are also grateful to the person who has been bringing us coffee and hot chocolate from Dunkin's and to another person who gave us a $25.00 gift card from Dunkin's.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday October 17 2013

The sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood was filled with parents and their young children praying. It was a beautiful testament to "parenthood". St Thomas Aquinas parishioners came with Father Chris Gaffrey and were praying for the women leaving PP who had just aborted their babies. A number of those couples as they were leaving took the pamphlet "Healing After An Abortion".

A woman with a baby in a stroller was directed to the Pennacook Pregnancy Center.  A lot of women we speak with during the week are unaware abortions are done at the Manchester Planned Parenthood. We have available a list of local organizations that do not perform abortions.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday October 10 2013

40DFL is reaching the halfway mark. We have seen many new people come to pray. Thursday at 4:00pm Fr. Chris Gaffrey O.F.M. and Brother Joseph Powell O.F.M. came with a large group from St. Thomas Aquinas parish in Derry. They stayed and prayed 20 decades of the rosary. If you have never prayed outside an abortion mill this is a good opportunity to come and invite your pastor, relative, friend or neighbor to join you.

Thursday morning we noticed a car (with vanity plate) drive into the parking lot. It had been there last Thursday.  An older woman and teenager left last week with paperwork and now were back for the abortion.  That is why it is so important to pray every day for pregnant woman to find the encouragement and support they need to make a decision for life.

Two college age blondes were going in and when offered information one of them put her hand on her stomach, threw back her head and laughed as she said "I have a plan for this baby."  Maybe you had to be there, but of all the awful things that have been said to us, the words and the way it was seemed to come right from the devil himself.

After parking in the lot a woman walked to the sidewalk to take some pamphlets. After a brief discussion she agreed to go and speak with the women at the recently opened Pennacook Pregnancy Center. She did not return to PP.

"Today I commit myself,

never to be silent,

never to be passive,

never to be forgetful of the unborn."

The sights and sounds of a typical Thursday on Pennacook Street; mother and daughter arrive at the abortion mill, the mother yells and curses at us while her daughter stands at the doorway of Planned Parenthood and screams hysterically. Mother opens the door and pushes her daughter inside.

The parking lot never filled up for some reason. Many of the women with appointments for an abortion parked on the street or in the Rite Aid parking lot. We handed a young girl, parked in the Rite Aid lot, a pamphlet called “Milestones of Early Life” as she walked towards Planned Parenthood. It shows the growth and changes in a baby that occurs in the nine months in the womb.  At 10:30am after more than an hour waiting inside; she came out, walked by us and said "I didn't do it". Our offers of help were refused.  She said "I have to go" and hurried to her car.

We watched as an obviously pregnant woman brought her teenage daughter in for an abortion. We talked to a woman who was with her little boy. She had come for a mammogram, but soon found out that Planned Parenthood does NOT do mammograms. So much for their "comprehensive" women's health care.

It is always wonderful to watch the mothers who come with their small children to pray during 40Days For Life.  Better than any sign is the sight of small children with their mothers outside of the abortion mill. Thanks again to Rev. Von from St. Patrick Church in Pelham for his visible witness in defense of the unborn. It is such an encouragement to all of us. Congratulations to Bob Melnyk and Joan Espinola for the recognition they received at the annual NHRTL banquet.

We are coming upon Day 20 of our 40 day vigil. Therefore, on Monday, October 14 from 7-8pm we will hold our Mid-Point Candle Light Rally. Please come pray with us as we process around the sidewalks in front of Planned Parenthood (24 Pennacook St., Manchester) in unity, praying for an end to abortion. For more information please contact Bob at robertmelnyk70@gmail.com or visit 40daysforlife.com/manchester. Thanks Jen.

Prayer of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen:  Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much, I beg you to spare the life of the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion.  .

Update on Pennacook St Thursday September 26 2013

It seemed odd that 2 of the women arriving Thursday for abortions were accompanied by older men who appeared to be in their late forties and very muscular like weight lifters. The men were very unpleasant; the women didn't say anything.  One man said he was too old to raise a kid. They were tough guys when they went in but when they came out their heads were bowed down and they looked old and broken.

A young man went inside PP with his girlfriend then came outside to eat his breakfast in the parking lot. After he finished eating he engaged in a lengthy conversation about why they were there for an abortion. He told us he went to Catholic school for 14 years but did not believe in God. His mother had an abortion and he knew girls that had abortions and they were all fine. Besides this was just a bunch of cells and they would have kids later. He told us how smart he was as he smoked one cigarette after another. He took the card with the precious feet the size of a 10 week baby in the womb. Why did he look so sad when he left with his girlfriend if he really believed it was just a bunch of cells they left inside Planned Parenthood?

One of the prayer volunteers ran into a girl Friday in front of PP.  It was the same girl the volunteer had met just over a year ago. At that time the girl was with another friend who was pregnant. We offered them help and the volunteer took them to CareNet for assistance. She told the prayer volunteer that her friend did have her baby, and had put the baby up for adoption. Her friend had been living at a shelter for pregnant women. It was good to hear that she got the help she needed to stay on the path of life for her baby. Please pray for the girl who gave her child up for adoption, who needs prayers, as well as this friend, who Friday, had a positive pregnancy test at PP, and found out she is two weeks pregnant.

40 Days for Life for 2013 had its kickoff at the Pray for Life Center on Tuesday night. Paul Swope from Derry gave a really inspirational pro-life talk. See Ellen Kobe’s report on Leaven For The Loaf. Thank you to all who came for the first of the 40 Days For Life prayer vigil in front of Planned Parenthood in Manchester on Thursday. Msgr. Frontiero from St. Joseph Cathedral and Rev.Volney (Von) De Rosia from Saint Patrick Church Pelham led us in praying the rosary.  We are encouraged by their very visible witness for the unborn.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday September 19 2013

A young couple arrived. The woman went inside; the man stayed outside. When we tried to give him some brochures about the abortion procedure, he pointed to his head, said “it's all up here” and told us he knew everything.  He went inside for awhile, then when he came out we tried again to give him brochures but he refused to look at any of our material.  It was 10:20am when this couple, with the woman driving, stopped to talk. She told us she had changed her mind and was keeping her baby. You should have seen the smile on her face. They always smile like that when they decide against having an abortion. The young man looked like a little kid who had been scolded. She was determined to keep her baby and he knew it.

A man and woman with two children in car seats drove into the lot.  She got out and went inside the building while he waited in the van with two small children for several hours while she had an abortion. He was very angry and had some unkind words to say to us as we prayed.

There were six cars with Mass plates. One man said he was from Lowell; the others may have been college students. One woman, as she drove out of the PP parking lot, stopped to tell us to “get a job” and that abortion is better than children living in slums like the houses she pointed to on Pennacook St.  Without a doubt the only slum element on Pennacook Street is the Planned Parenthood abortuary. Before she drove off to her ivory tower, we debated about the uniqueness and sanctity of life

The number of abortions is going back up.  Please keep praying. 40 Days for Life starts Wednesday 9/25/13. The kickoff rally is Tuesday 9/24/13 at 6:30pm. You can read about it on the link for 40DFL.

Thanks to all that came to the PFLC party on Saturday afternoon. The food was delicious and it was a beautiful day to sit out back on the deck and talk to other pro-lifers.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday September 12 2013

For the past several weeks there have been fewer and fewer abortions. Don't know why, but it is

good news. It seems they are doing more RU486 chemical abortions.

I talked to one woman as she was driving out and offered her the brochure on RU486. She took the brochure but then said she wasn't there for that. I told her that the effects of the medication could be reversed.  She handed back the brochure and drove off.  Perhaps she did not want to be tempted?

At 2:40pm the abortionist was done and drove off.  Thursday was the last day for one of the employees and they had a party for her. Planned Parenthood has quite a turnover in their work force.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday September 5 2013

Thursday brought a familiar face back, Joe, the security guard. Sgt Mark was off celebrating Rosh Hashanah. Joe remarked how the parking lot used to have a lot more cars in the morning prior to Planned Parenthood unlocking their door.

Back on August 15, when PP did so many abortions (approximately 35), was also the day they had visitors from the New York Planned Parenthood “Evaluation Department”. The woman, a Senior Director, is responsible for recommending whether a PP office should be closed.  For the last three Thursdays since her visit, Manchester PP has done 5 to 10 fewer abortions each week than they usually do.

The morning started off slowly and never got real busy. A young woman who had driven her friend voiced her opinion about our volunteers and questioned our offers of help.  When her friend came out after getting the Ru486 abortion pill she was still angry at us. Hope she is there to help her friend when the chemical abortion takes effect and they have a dead baby.

We had a number of conversations with a man from India, who waited with his son and daughter, while his wife aborted their third child. His two children were beautiful. But we couldn't change his mind about aborting the baby. We did not have a chance to talk with his wife. She was the last woman to come out at 5:20pm. The abortionist was gone by 5:30pm, much earlier than usual.

Two women arrived at 4:30pm. One wanted a pregnancy test, but Planned Parenthood told her to "come back tomorrow".  So two volunteers took them to the new Pennacook Pregnancy Center and the test was done there. Friends of the Pray For Life Center saw a need and opened a pregnancy crisis center up the street from Planned Parenthood. This will be a great resource for our volunteers to bring women for free pregnancy tests and counseling since it is just a minute walk from Planned Parenthood.  COUNSELING VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED. TRAINING PROVIDED.  603 206 5306

The Pray For Life Center is having a fall get together with food and refreshments on Saturday, September 21 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. Come and celebrate as we show our appreciation to everyone for their time and support in helping to keep the PFLC going. It has truly been a grace filled year, and one cannot begin to count the number of rosaries, chaplets and other prayers that have been lifted up to God.  We are grateful to everyone, but most especially to God and His Blessed Mother. In Christ is the victory won. May our witness always be one of His love and mercy. We will be cooking out on the grill. Come and share a meal and fellowship with us, or just drop in for some mulled cider if you can.  If you are able, please bring a side dish and/or dessert that you can share with others or if the weather is cool, soup or crockpots or whatever you would like to bring is fine. So we can get a head count, please send an email to www.prayforlifecenter@gmail.com. Thank you and God bless.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday August 29 2013

Plenty of sad sights on Pennacook St. this Thursday. The first woman to arrive was dropped off by a man in a truck. She was not agreeable to having a conversation with us. After a short time she came out and was talking on her phone. We could hear her say "I need 130 dollars. I did give them money. I need 130 dollars more to get it done."  She waited outside a very long time for a woman to come with the money. We offered many times to help her to no avail.

The shiny red suv drove in and parked at the far end of the lot. Always interesting when they want to hide their vehicle. I had watched when this suv drove by us a half hour earlier. Maybe they thought we would be gone. Two women got out of the suv; one had a hat pulled down to hide her face. Then the driver took off. In late afternoon the suv was back in the parking lot. Around 5:00pm he moved to the rear of the parking lot. That is never good news. The woman who had hidden her face before was now brought out in a wheel chair and lifted into the suv. She was not awake and her face was totally exposed. The suv turned the corner onto Elm St and then parked there for 4 or 5 minutes before driving off. I question how you send someone off in that condition. What does PP say: “Keep it Safe and Keep it Legal”? Really?

The big black suv from Maine with mother, father, daughter and boyfriend arrived after noon. The mother and the boyfriend were in and out a number of times and each time the mother looked more distraught and the young man looked very worried. At 6:20 PM, more than an hour after the previous woman had come out in a wheel chair, the mother walked out with her daughter. The girl was shaking and had her hands on her stomach.  Dad who had been in the suv on his phone most of the 6 hours, got out and hugged his daughter and gave her a kiss on the forehead. I was sickened by this sight.

For some reason more women are coming out with “difficulty walking” and appear to be in a lot of pain.

That is just some of the awful stuff that we saw on Thursday.

Everyone is welcome to join us in prayer.

Pray For Life Center will be having a cook out for all who have donated their time, talents and treasures on Saturday September 21. Time and other details to be announced next week.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday August 22 2013

Compared to last week, this Thursday was a slow day, at least 10 fewer abortions than the previous week, when they may have been trying to impress a man and woman from New York, Planned Parenthood. This week the parking lot never filled up and the last woman drove off at 4:00 P.M. The previous week 6 women we still inside at 6:00 P.M. The women we saw leaving after their abortions appeared to be in pain and had difficulty walking. We could see them reclining in the seat as the cars drove out of the lot. One woman was clutching a stuffed animal to her stomach.

We handed out some new brochures on STDs and people were shocked at the statistics. Many kinds of sexually transmitted diseases are rampant with the United States right at the top of the list for reported cases. The credit goes to Planned Parenthood for encouraging children and adults to have sex with as many partners as they can.  Each year 20 million people a year become infected with an STD. Statistics are at www.cdc.gov

Have you noticed the billboards from Pro-Life America? One on Elm St. across from Myrtle St, one on Hanover St across from the Palace Theater and there are more - look for them. They are beautiful!

40DaysForLife coordinator Bob Melnyk is still looking for some co-cordinators.

2013 Annual Saint Benedict Center Conference will be held Oct.11 and 12 at the Center, Richmond, N.H.

We said good bye to Don and Chris our faithful prayer couple from Nashua. They have relocated to Florida and without doubt will pray outside of one the many abortion mills there.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday August 15 2013

It was Thursday, a holy day for Catholics, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. But for Planned Parenthood in Manchester, it was just another day to make blood money; it was business as usual at the abortion mill.

One of the women that went in shortly after 8am came out at 1:30 and said "I didn't do it." She talked a long time to one of the prayer ladies and told her what had happened inside. Nine weeks pregnant, a single mother of 2 small children and recently unemployed; she had no place to live and no man in the picture. So she went to Planned Parenthood and asked for options. PP offered an RU486 chemical abortion because she didn't have enough money to pay for a suction abortion. The RU 486 pill is used on expectant mothers to abort babies no more than 7 weeks along and is known to have caused a number of deaths in woman who are 7 weeks along. She asked PP about adoption and received no counseling but was told she was taking up a lot of their time. For the chemical abortion if she was given the pills to take and then sent away she would deliver a dead baby alone. Then came the good part; a phone call from a rental agent with the news that they had an apartment for her. Prayers answered. Out she came and promised she will be having her baby! She was told to keep in touch and let us know what help she needs.

We are putting Msgr Reilly's method into practice, handing out rosary beads and pamphlets and explaining how to pray the rosary.

Follow up on a former 47 year old male co-worker who never married and has no children. He brought his 26 year old girlfriend for an abortion in June, paid for her abortion and then 2 weeks later had a new girlfriend. Both of these women he met online. This is a common occurrence - get rid of the baby then get rid of the woman.

Now the sad part. The guard and a woman were already in the parking lot at 7:45am. She had been dropped off and was standing talking and laughing with Sgt. Mark. Holding a large pink purse and obviously pregnant, she refused all offers of help or conversation. She came outside several times to smoke, but said she didn't want to talk. Because she looked so pregnant I decided I would wait and see if Planned Parenthood would abort her baby. When her male companion came to get her she was not ready.  He returned with his 4 year old daughter around 4pm and waited. They lock the doors at 4:30. After 5:00pm he asked the guard to find out how much longer. The reply was another 20 or 30 minutes (which turned out to be 45 minutes). She finally came out at 5:45pm, ten hours after she arrived. The guard told the man to drive up to the doorway to pick her up. She had a difficult time walking and had to be helped from the building to the pickup truck. That is just one of the awful events that happened on a day when more babies were killed on Pennacook Street than I have ever witnessed.

Here is a video of a man called John, who spends 9 hours a day, 6 days a week outside the abortuary in Florida called the Orlando Women’s Center.

As always, everyone is welcome to go inside the PFLC to pray on Thursday, to visit and to catch up with what is going on with friends and families.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday August 8 2013

Two prayer volunteers spent a couple of days in Brooklyn last week. Their time was spent being taught about the mission and method of the Helper's of God's Precious Infants by its founder Msgr. Reilly. They were privileged to join him in prayer and witness at the local abortion mill.  His method is simple:

"We learned how the Helper's give out rosary beads and the “how to pray the rosary" booklet while on the street. This Thursday, in Manchester, we began this approach -  giving out colorful rosaries and booklets on how to say the rosary. It had a positive response. We asked for prayers for the mothers going in, as they have real problems. People seem to love taking the rosary. Msgr. taught us direct and indirect forms of counseling. He uses signs, with photos and models of the developing unborn child alongside a picture of what an aborted baby looks like. (his “Did you know?” brochure.) He shows a ten week fetal model and also passes out a brochure with info on nearby life centers. Msgr. Reilly uses a note people can read detailing up to what month abortions are done at the clinic. (6months in Brooklyn, and in Manchester the abortions now are performed up to approximately four months gestation - a recent change.)  Most important was the constant prayer from the Helper's Book. We will begin to implement this in Manchester with someone praying the Helpers prayers continuously, while on the sidewalk the atmosphere will also be one of constant prayer. There was no conversing....only prayer. Whether going in or coming out, the message must be one of mercy and forgiveness. In his teaching, Msgr. also stressed the importance of educating about contraception, so intricately tied to abortion.

In his book, A Must Read for All Pro-Lifers, A Compendium of Presentations by Msgr. Reilly he reminds us of the mission, "The challenge of the Helpers is not to be protestors but to be Roadside or Sidewalk Contemplatives at Calvary or Golgotha. The challenge is to remove from our presence, outside the abortion centers, anything that would prevent those going in or working in the abortion 'clinics', from experiencing the unconditional merciful love of God for them. The mission is to save souls, not simply to save the physical life of the unborn. That is why we teach the Helpers to be Christ to the people before and after the abortion.”

There is also a movement to catechize the faithful called "We Want to Be Taught”.  Msgr. Reilly and other religious and laity are spearheading this initiative to ask the Magesterium to publish for the Universal Church, an Ordinary Sunday catechetical lectionary. This would be through the use of the Compendium of the Catholic Catechism. For more information and to sign on in support of this exciting initiative, please see http://www.wewanttobetaught.com/

Update on Pennacook St Thursday August 1 2013

We had high hopes Thursday morning; business was very slow. By noon half the usual number had arrived for abortions. Then came the afternoon rush. We watched as 10 women went inside to have their babies killed.

We noticed the woman with the head scarf that went in for the RU486 and someone commented that abortion was forbidden by that culture. The Catholic Church teaches abortion is intrinsically evil yet we see rosary beads hanging from car mirrors as pregnant mothers drive into PP.

We are there to pray for everyone, but we are also called to speak out in defense of the unborn.

Sad to see that the Irish abortion bill became law. Seems their President Michael Higgins decided to sign it into law rather than take a chance on sending it for a ruling by the Supreme Court. It will be challenged!

On Tuesday some people we spoke with took information on Natural Family Planning while others took brochures explaining the dangers associated with different chemical forms of birth control. Please try to come on weekdays and hand out brochures to women and men entering the abortion mill. Come and pray anytime Monday- Saturday.

I would love to hear from students who have some free time this summer. Please come and pray any weekday.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday July 25 2013

We saw her walking towards us and knew she was headed to PP. She stopped to talk. The day before her mother pointed at her stomach and said "you better not have a baby in there." So she was going to PP to get the morning after pill. Jeanne brought her for a free pregnancy test, which was negative. She was then given some advice about lifestyles and also information on STD'S. The girl told us her father was a non-practicing Catholic. She had been raised without any religious instruction and could not remember ever being inside a church. We are praying for her.

Parents are responsible for teaching their children about" Faith and Morals", not the schools, not the government and certainly not Planned Parenthood. It does NOT take a village to raise a child; it takes a mother and a father.

At 5:00 P M the abortionist left, her killing for the day was done.

When you come 2 at a time and pray any day for an hour, you will make a difference.

Please contact Bob Melnyk if you want to help coordinate 40DaysForLife. July 31, at midnight is the deadline

Update on Pennacook St Thursday July 18 2013

It was hot at the gates of hell this Thursday. The alternate abortionist (who is not even an M.D.) arrived at 8:20am to begin the killing.

Some good news, a woman going in for a pregnancy test was told abortions were being done inside Planned Parenthood. She said she was against abortion so our sidewalk counselor Sue took her for a free pregnancy test.

One man told us he had 3 of his babies aborted and was now bringing his daughter for an abortion. Her mother was also there and said she had aborted a baby. They both said they had no regrets. Another woman insisted in telling us that she was glad she had an abortion and that was why she brought her teenage daughter for an abortion. She also said her daughter had taken the morning after pill several times.

These are the times we are living in, parents encouraging their children to follow in their footsteps. When your method of birth control fails go to PP and they will kill your baby, so you can get on with your life. Most women and men do regret aborting their babies. Some are in denial for years; others have remorse immediately. We pray for everyone complicit in abortion.

Please try to come on weekdays and hand out brochures to women and men entering the abortion mill.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday July 11 2013

They are arriving earlier every week. By 7:35am on Thursday an elderly woman was already in the lot with 2 women with red hair who looked like sisters. The elderly woman waited over 4 hours before finally driving off and leaving her passengers inside Planned Parenthood. Another early arrival was a man from Groveton Mass. We had many conversations with him while he waited for his "ex-girlfriend" to have an abortion - - that he was paying for!  He told some real whoppers.  He wasn't fertile; it was not his baby -- ah - - well maybe.  But she has a child now being raised by her parents. She has mental problems, and on and on. This man was given a lot of offers of help, but in the end it was like he really didn't understand. His "ex" came out around 3:00pm (7 hours after their arrival). She told us she paid $300 for her abortion even though the usual price is $400.and up.  Sad day. One woman was obviously pregnant but spent most of the time outside smoking. She was not the willing to speak with us.

Manchester PP is now killing babies up to 15 weeks and 6 days. Let’s call it what it is - - murder at 4 months.  At 3 months the baby already has a unique set of fingerprints, has fingernails and toe nails. At 4 months eyebrows and eyelashes and the baby's facial expression can be seen. There is no denying the existence of a unique human being whose one and only chance at life is violently ended shortly after the abortionist inserts the tube and turns on the suction machine.

New Hampshire has only 2 laws regarding abortions, truly a sad commentary on Our "Life Free Or Die" motto. Take the time to click on the pdf file and see for yourself how we compare to other states.

Please try to come on weekdays and hand out brochures to women and men entering the abortion mill.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday June 27 2013

Please pray for Marty, one of our faithful prayer men. Marty is recovering at the Elliott Hospital from injuries due to an accident. Also keep Kathy S. our #1 pro-life State Rep in your prayers as she recovers from knee surgery.

Please join us this Tuesday July 2, for our weekly prayer vigil outside PP

Thursday was a very busy killing day, maybe 26 or 27 abortions. I recognized a former co-worker bringing someone in for an abortion - very upsetting. The warm weather has brought new people to join our vigil. Hopefully we can keep encouraging people with free time this summer to pray with us on abortion day or any day outside of the abortion mill.

Fortnight4Freedom Rosary Rally at Pulaski Park was a really nice event. It ended just before the rains came. Thank you Msgr. Frontiero, Deacon Bob and Seminarian Matt from St Joseph Cathedral and also Christopher Duffley who said it all, by singing God Bless America. .  H APPY FOURTH OF JULY!!  Pray for our religious freedoms.

Planning ahead, we will be doing a fundraiser for the PFLC this fall. Someone suggested a Christmas flea market, so keep us in mind before you get rid of any of your Christmas items

I would love to hear from students who have some free time this summer. Please come and pray any weekday.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday June 20 2013

It was only 7:45am on Thursday, yet the mothers were already arriving for their appointments to terminate the life of their babies. A taxi brought 3 women, while others parked down the street even though there were plenty of spaces in Planned Parenthood’s parking lot.

The car window was open as the two women drove into the lot. The lady praying bent toward the open window and asked the women in the car to Choose Life. They appeared to be mother and daughter. Both stayed in the car and watched as the Planned Parenthood door was unlocked for a woman and another couple going into PP.  Several minutes later the mother and daughter drove away without ever going into PP. What caused the change of heart? Was it the seeing the people praying? Or maybe hearing someone asking them to Choose Life? It is not for us to know. We thank God we were allowed to witness a baby saved. Please consider joining us in our peaceful, prayerful presence on Pennacook St.

Fortnight4Freedom prayer rally Wednesday June 26, noon to 1:00 P.M.       An Abortion buffer zone petition is on the Concord NH City Council agenda for Monday July 8th. Please contact the Mayor and City Council with your objections/concerns. These  are the elected officials who will make the final decision. It does not matter what town or city you live it ; these decisions have a way of snowballing.     Note: Atty Tierney has asked for help in fighting the buffer zone, especially from those who pray in front of the Planned Parenthood Feminist Center in Concord.  You can contact him at mtierney@wadleighlaw.com

It was short notice, but the plant sale went very well. We had some beautiful perennials people donated from their gardens. It was a rainy muddy week to be out digging in the garden so I really appreciate the effort involved. Total was $331.00. Thanks to everyone that participated.

We are working on organizing a rosary rally during Fortnight4Freedom June21 to July 4. We’re also thinking of an outdoor event in a park or maybe outside a courthouse or city hall. Any suggestions?

A woman walking into PP told us she was HIVpositive.  When she came out she had paperwork and said she did not have an abortion but was upset because she was turned away with just a referral .

A mother, her teenage daughter, and the father of the baby parked on the street. As they walked by they were politely offered help. Later, when they come out to smoke we had several conversations with them, especially with the young man. He is a vegan and doesn't believe in eating anything that was alive or products made from  animals, such as cheese, milk, eggs etc. Very warped logic to respect animal life but not human life. The teenage girl looked very undecided, but what do you do at that age when your own mother brings you to abort your baby - her own grandchild?

A pro-abortion person came to stand outside of Planned Parenthood. She waited for her friends to come and join her, but they never showed . She promised to be back every Thursday. Pray for her.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday June 6 2013

He was over 6' tall with white hair and glasses. She was under 5' tall and dressed in a sari. She looked up to him to translate what was being said by the sidewalk counselor offering her a brochure. But he said nothing and both kept walking into Planned Parenthood. Wonder if she knew he was bringing her there to have an abortion?  After the abortion he did not speak and would not accept the brochure offered to him. She was totally reliant on him to translate.  It just didn't look right.

One young woman parked in the Planned Parenthood employee lot and came out after an hour to let her dog out of the car.  The security guard questioned her and she left and didn't come back for her abortion. Hopefully she will not return next Thursday for an abortion.

The plant sale will be this Thursday 6/13 starting at 9:00am till sold out.

Healing Retreat - Email sent by Abby Johnson June 3, 2013

Last weekend, several former abortion clinic workers from all different states joined together for a healing retreat through ATTWN.  Father Frank Pavone and Father Terry Gensemer led the retreat and helped the former clinic workers open up. As the workers shared their stories with each other, they realized how much they had in common with one another.

Bitter divorce, broken families, drug and alcohol abuse, and abortions in their own pasts  were all major factors in these women's decisions to initially begin working in the abortion industry. "I'm angry at my ex husband... the abuse," said 'Amy,' who was employed by Planned Parenthood for many years.  "I felt worthless and thought 'what difference does it make where I work?'"

Also common among former clinic workers is how secretive they were (and still are) about working in the abortion industry-it's something they'd rather keep from their friends and family.  "I hate to admit that I ever worked at a place like Planned Parenthood," said 'Jamie,' who had tears in her eyes.

"I still grieve the person that people think I am," said 'Molly.'   Even though she left the abortion industry many years ago, she still struggled with telling her adult children about it. "How can I tell them I was capable of that [working in a clinic]?"

Going into the abortion industry, it is not unusual for a person to be told "Don't worry, you won't actually have to participate in the abortions."   This happened with most of the women who attended the retreat.  Although they may have been initially be uncomfortable with the idea of working in an abortion clinic, this justification helped push that discomfort aside.  "It wasn't long before they were in the procedure rooms, directly assisting in the abortion process."  'Mary' described the introductory process to helping in abortions as she recalled: "First, you'd just sit in a chair by the door when they happened.  Then, they would have you stand by the door.  Eventually you'd come closer, and then suddenly you're at the edge of the bed actually helping with the procedure.  They did it that way because most people don't make it through the first one."

A lot of horrific memories surfaced during the retreat - memories of babies being born alive and having to piece babies back together after procedures were particularly painful for the women to describe.  "When you take that jar and dump it [after an abortion], and you see those arms and legs, there's no denying it's a baby," said Mary.  'Christine' recalled a time that a baby was born alive into the toilet. "This baby was moving... I'm like, oh God, what do I do?" she said.  "We were supposed to give CPR but never did... once that fetus dropped in the toilet, I knew I was done... I am guilty for not saving the child who drowned in the toilet.  When I left, I didn't look back."

Truly,  Christ's presence was a palpable during the retreat as tears were shed and admittance of guilt and sorrow poured out.  All of the women opened up about their pasts like they never had before, and made promises among themselves to set new goals for their lives.  Many made a goal of gathering the courage to pray outside of abortion clinics, including the ones where they formerly worked.  Molly made a goal of talking to her family and children about her past. Some made the goal of starting up and working for pregnancy resource centers to help pregnant women choose life. Christine is currently writing a book about her experiences, and wants to expose the doctor for whom she worked.  Jamie has set a goal of finding a medical job where she can use her skills without having to compromise her beliefs.

Here are a few more quotes from the former clinic workers who attended the ATTWN retreat.

"Gosnell's going to prison for life, but I'm just as guilty... but the 24 week abortions I helped in, that was legal.  There is no statute of limitations on murder, but I'm not in jail... If you can believe it's an unfeeling non-person, it's so much easier to dehumanize them.  You can't hear the baby cry."  -Molly

"After you work at Planned Parenthood, you're set apart.  It's a stigma.  As a single parent it's lonely... people look at you differently.  The medical community does too.  Planned Parenthood makes you feel like you're stuck there because you've been involved with abortion... When I left Planned Parenthood, I never wanted to think about it again.  It worked for a few years, but eventually I went out to pray during 40 Days for Life.  I figured after that I'd be done, but God has more in store for me." -Mary

"Dr. _X_ was good at the digoxin, but Dr. _Y_ wasn't.  Dr. _Y _ would mess up and babies would be born alive... Moms are damaged mentally.  You will never, ever, ever, ever forget it.  [Abortion] hurts a whole community.  It hurts a family."  -Christine

"The hardest question you get asked is 'does the baby feel pain?' We had to lie to them or say we don't know."  -Amy

All of you, with your financial contributions, your support and your prayers helped to make this weekend happen.  On behalf of all the women that attended the retreat, I want to say THANK YOU.  Lives are being changed because of you.

We anticipate holding another healing retreat in August.  If you know someone who has worked for the abortion industry in the past (or currently), please let them know there is help.  We would love for them to join us on our next retreat.

For All Life,

Abby Johnson

Update on Pennacook St Thursday May 30 2013

Thursday the heat was brutal, but it didn't compare to the brutality taking place inside Planned Parenthood. Thank you to all the stoic people that came and prayed and stood in the blazing sun to witness to the humanity of the unborn. Our pro-life friends from Florida have gone home to take their place outside their local abortion mills. We truly appreciate the energy and expertise they brought and shared with us.

Please consider coming to pray any time Monday-Friday when people going into PP are not being rushed inside by their companions or the PP death escort.  You will have the chance to speak with the women and give them information about the many free resources available.

For those interested in sidewalk counseling, “The Sidewalk Counselor's Guidebook I”  by Judith Fetrow, a former Planned Parenthood abortion counselor is available at EWTN  http://www.ewtn.com/library/PROLIFE/SIDEWALK.TXT

Marcy had her baby Friday around 4pm. Her name is Jordan and she was 8lb. 3oz. Do not know the length. Her labor was induced and both are doing very well. We’ll have a photo for next week

Any volunteers for some gardening work?  I need some help pulling weeds and trimming the grass. Whoever borrowed (many weeks ago) John"s autographed copy of 40 Days For Life please return it. Thanks.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday May 23 2013

Mothers were already waiting at 7:45am, although Planned Parenthood doesn't open up till 8:00am and the abortionist doesn’t arrive till after 9:00am. It seems like women are anxious to get there before some relative or friend can talk to them about the negative impact abortion will have on their mental and physical health. We try to give them information while they are outside smoking. No smoking allowed inside –too dangerous to the mother’s and the abortionists’ health. And on abortion day no “born” children are allowed inside. Again -  too dangerous - women may see them and have a change of heart. Is God speaking to Planned Parenthood in the words of Isaiah?  Woe to you that call evil good, and good evil: that put darkness for light, and light for darkness” Isaiah 5:20:  Just keep praying because God answers all prayers.

On Sunday June 2nd think about taking a tour of the Cathedral from 1 – 3pm given by Monsignor Frontiero. The stained glass windows are beautiful and of course all of the history is fascinating.

I’m looking for a couple of people to help cut the grass and clean up the yard. Decided to have the plant sale next year in April. I waited too late for this year.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday May 16 2013

On Monday and Wednesday night, Janine and Ralph Enger who sidewalk counsel year round in Florida, conducted a two night sidewalk counseling workshop at the Pray For Life Center. It was a chance to view a video “No Greater Joy” http://prolifeaction.org/sidewalk/packet.php showing the “Chicago Sidewalk Counseling Technique”, plus an opportunity for questions & answers and sharing of personal experiences.  We had a good turnout and the video was really informative. The “Chicago Method” uses no “signs” and instead has a group of people praying together away for the Abortuary entrance while two sidewalk counselors are stationed at the entrance to hand out material and talk with the abortion bound women.  Thank you Janine and Ralph for all the work you do.

Every week as we pray and sidewalk counsel, we talk with women who are both surprised and disgusted when they learn about the abortions done inside the Planned Parenthood building at 24 Pennacook Street.  Tuesday, a woman came out of PP crying because she wasn't pregnant and was trying to have a baby. (To me, PP seems like a dangerous place to go if you are trying to have a baby).

Thursday we talked to several couples going into Planned Parenthood and offered to help them with whatever they needed. One woman come out crying and said "I didn't do it, I didn't have an abortion.” Her husband came out minutes later with paperwork. One of our prayer ladies was talking with the wife and another waited to speak with the husband.  Then the story spilled out. Married for 20 years with a 9 yr old child, they had no job and a bank foreclosure pending. She was more than 12 weeks pregnant and PP referred them somewhere else.  PP on Pennacook Street only kills babies less than 12 weeks old. So they drove off, came back 15 minutes later, and went back into PP . When the woman came out she was on her phone confirming her appt. for an abortion for later that afternoon. Sad.

Monsignor Frontiero came and prayed the rosary and led us in the Angelus at noon time.  Please invite your pastor to come and pray.

My 16 2013 #4

Update on Pennacook St Thursday May 9 2013

We watch and wonder when we see cars going into Planned Parenthood's parking lot with rosary beads hanging, bumper stickers from Catholic Colleges, “coexist” stickers and stickers for all kinds of causes.  Thursday a van had a Lady of Guadalupe decal but the women in this van spent only a few minutes inside PP. It seems people have managed to disconnect abortion from the reality of what it really is:  the violent termination of and innocent life. Please look at the photo on our website showing the development of the baby at 12 weeks. This should answer any questions about why we continue to pray outside of America's abortion mills year after year. The message with this photo states: this is what we all looked like at 12 weeks in the womb. Legal to kill in all fifty states.

Tues. one woman came out all smiles and said she was due on December 25. She was there to get paperwork so she could get insurance to cover her pregnancy. During the morning several women stopped to get information and were quite upset when they were told about the number of abortions done at PP in Manchester.

"To everyone who came to my baby shower, I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful gifts and prayers for me and my family. I was so surprised and heartfelt that so many cared so much. It really brought joy to my heart and tears to my eyes. I'm getting very close to my due date and very excited for this new little addition to the family. I am happy and relieved that I made the choice for life for my baby. I will be sending photos when the baby comes so you all can see.”  Thank you again, Marcy

Update on Pennacook St Thursday May 2 2013

A young couple leaving Planned Parenthood stopped to say they were keeping their baby. The man looked at the 3' high statue of Or Lady of Guadalupe and said “I'm not religious” as his voice trailed off .The woman was smiling and crying as she told us her name. The look of relief on her face said it all.  Meanwhile, a grandmother sat in her suv minding two small children while her daughter, the childrens’ mother, went in to get the RU486 pill (chemical abortion).  A young couple came out after 10 minutes with paperwork, but would not say why the didn't stay for the scheduled abortion. People ask why all the out of state plates, one reason is it is much cheaper in NH than Mass - another reason - anonymity.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday April 25 2013
A steady stream of people kept coming to pray and keep vigil outside of Planned Parenthood, but the abortion bound mothers (24) and fathers were not deterred. We will keep a prayer vigil every week as long as abortions are performed.
According to Planned Parenthood April is National STD “Get Yourself Tested” month or "GYT".  Since one out of every two sexually active young people will get an STD before age 25 this is the new growth industry for Planned Parenthood. Not only does PP advertise and promote sexual promiscuity but they also make money providing for the testing, diagnosis and treatment of STD’s resulting from the sexual promiscuity.  But their real big money maker is still abortion!

Marcy’s April 28th Baby Shower
An overwhelming response by the community at large for this young lady!  Thank you so very much! Marcy was all smiles (and some contractions) as she opened her mountain of gifts. She is getting nearer to her due date, and we will have upcoming baby photos as well when her child arrives. Today was a day all about love. A HUGE THANK YOU to all of you, both far and near who came out in support of the beautiful young lady. And we know that God will not be outdone in generosity. Please keep the prayers going for her.  God bless you all.    Susan

Update on Pennacook St Thursday April 18 2013
On Wednesday, Rev. Patrick Mahoney spoke at the Pray For Life Center and prayed with us for an end to Abortion and an end to Planned Parenthood. Pat discussed his upcoming 100 mile walk from Belfast to Dublin, Ireland which he is leading to help raise awareness of the impeding threat to legalize abortion in Ireland. Rev. Mahoney was the National Spokesperson for Operation Rescue and has been a national pro-life leader for over 25 years.

Thursday we were blessed to have the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Pennacook Street. There are 4 of these icons that have been held against the original displayed in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico, one of the most visited Marian shrines in the world. The black girdle on the image indicates pregnancy, and the image is popularly invoked as Patroness of the Unborn.

Thursday at 8:15am a couple drove into PP, stayed in their vehicle for a few minutes, then stopped and the driver told me they we going to get something to eat. They would not accept offers for help or information.  The couple came back in a few minutes and kept their appointment. There is a very good possibility that if there were more than just 2 people standing outside of PP witnessing for life this very conflicted couple may not have had an abortion.

Mondays and Fridays are busy days at PP. Actually everyday it is important to have someone to offer help to women going into Planned Parenthood.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday April 11 2013

Thursday started off slow and we were hoping it would stay that way, but they kept coming. The last victim went in around 3:30pm and was still there after 6pm. Five of the cars Thursday had Mass plates. Every week 3 or more of the people going in are from Mass.

As the weather gets warmer, people are more agreeable to stay and have a conversation with us and take some of the pamphlets we hand out. On Friday someone stopped by to pray and began talking to a mother and her nineteen yr old daughter as they exited Planned Parenthood. The teenager just found out she was pregnant . Her mother was not too happy, but the daughter talked and listened to the prayer volunteer and even asked for a card on how to pray The Chaplet of Divine Mercy.  Any time you feel you are being called to pray outside Planned Parenthood, LISTEN to the Holy Spirit.

Thursday is the difficult day to engage people. Every other day the people going into PP are more relaxed and will stop and talk.  Students from Holy Family Academy came on Thursday and students from St. Thomas Moore come most Fridays at 5:30pm.  We would like to have the Center open Mon-Fri if people will commit to coming between 10am and 2pm.

To those that can, please continue to come and be a witness for life.  We are trying to have a presence on the sidewalk Mon - Fri. If you are interested on coming on a day other than Thurs. please send us an email.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday April 4 2013

Two Babies Saved On P. St.

Wednesday afternoon as a volunteer was praying she encountered a young couple going into Planned Parenthood to get information about an abortion. After hearing their story she had a heart to heart talk with them and they decided to seek counseling. The girl was afraid to disappoint her dad and the boy really wanted to have his baby. Pray for them. This was the first time this volunteer counseled anyone and she said and did everything right.

Prayer is bringing forth great fruit. As another young couple got out of their car on the street Thurday morning they were approached by a prayer volunteer. They were going in for a scheduled abortion. When asked about their needs and offered resources, they were receptive, so they followed the volunteer to CareNet, where she spent time with a counselor while her boyfriend waited for her in waiting room. After this, they went to Our Place, where they were assisted with their individual concerns. Please pray fervently that this couple will continue on the path of life for their baby as they await an ultrasound next week. Thanks be to God and Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Unborn.

Also, on Thursday morning, three women were re-directed away from Planned Parenthood to CareNet for pregnancy tests. Please pray for them

Baby pictures have arrived from Sarah!!  Sarah and her baby are doing very well!  She would like to say thank you to everyone who has given her a gift. She is very grateful for everything she has received. Sarah had her baby shower at the PFLC last February 10th. Please keep them in your prayers.  Here's a picture of Sarah's new baby.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday March 28 2013:
Well it was Holy Thursday, but there was nothing holy that went on inside Planned Parenthood. We estimate that 20 babies were killed by abortions – the slaughter of the innocents. Two women came out and while waiting for a taxi had a conversation with one of the prayer volunteers. One of the women had been given a "free" ultrasound. Her baby was 16 weeks. PP in Manchester does abortions up to the 12th week but she denied she was there for an abortion. But Thursday is abortion day and Planned Parenthood does not do free ultrasounds. When asked if she had her ultrasound picture, she gave a disgusted look and said "no".

The Union Leader photographer took pictures (see UL Fri 3/30/13).  By our count around 150-200 people showed up for noontime prayer. What a sight to see!!  We had to split the group in two with half praying across the street.  Those in front of the abortuary kept walking, and police came and made us walk single file. Lots of young people came...at least half of the student body from Holy Family Academy. We did the stations, rosary, litany and sang.  It was wonderful to see people of all ages praying outside of PP for the mothers and their babies.

To those that can please continue to come and be a witness for life.  We are trying to have a presence on the sidewalk Mon -Fri. If you are interested on coming on a day other than Thurs. please send an email to prayforlifecenter@gmail.com.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday March 21 2013:
Thursday a woman stopped, rolled down her window and said "I made the right choice" gave the thumbs up and a big smile and drove out of Planned Parenthood’s parking lot. It is a beautiful thing to witness the joy of someone making a choice for life instead of the sorrow we normally see on faces after an abortion.

We had some heavy duty prayer power on Pennacook St at the time ….  Fr Don Clinton, Fr.Moe Larochelle and Deacon Frank with 20 or more people praying the rosary. Later we were blessed to have students from St Anselm’s College praying for life and an end to abortion.  On Friday at the 3 o'clock hour Bishop Libasci prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet on the sidewalk outside of Planned Parenthood.

Angel Gabrielle, the former PP security guard drove by this week, giving us a big smile and a wave. I think he is checking to make sure we are ok. Big thanks to everyone who participated in 40DFL.  Please don't forget about the killing of the most innocent that happens every Thursday on Pennacook Street.  We maintain a prayer vigil 52 weeks a year, so join us when you are able.  After Easter Week the Pray for Life Center plans on being open Mon - Fri., hours to be determined. If you belong to a group and would like to meet at the Center for prayers, book discussion, Bible study etc. please send an email to the Center at prayforlifecenter@gmail.com

And a quote from the cover of the pray book we used this week by Msgr. Philip J. Reilly, Helpers of God's Precious Infants, Inc., Monastery of the Precious Blood:  “To the men and women who stand in the streets and pray, despite the bitter cold of winter and the blistering heat of summer, who ignore the falling leaves of autumn and the rains of spring, in the belief that saving just one baby's life is worth any sacrifice … this prayer book is dedicated”

To all, you do make a difference. God knows you are there to honor Him and His creations.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday March 14 2013:
Planned Parenthood has started calling the police to check on us. Please be careful not to trespass onto their property. On Thursday, Mark, the security guard told us PP has surveillance video and anytime someone wanders onto their property they want trespassing charges filed. We are here for a peaceful prayer vigil; not to provide PP with a reason to call the police. We are on the sidewalk in all kinds of weather because we feel God has called us to be there. People ask “do you think it does any good?”  Some of us have been blessed to be on the sidewalk outside of PP to see smiling faces and hear the words “Thank you for being here. We didn't go through with it - we are keeping our baby.”  Yes!  People praying in front of Planned Parenthood do make all the difference between life and death. You may never know how your prayers changed someone's mind. But God knows.
We are very concerned about the young girl brought in for an abortion by an older man. When she came out her face and nose were all red from crying. We are here to help but the women have to be strong enough to make that decision to walk to the sidewalk to talk to us. Not all are able to. One couple left very angry after a few minutes inside PP because, contrary to what PP says, it is all about money  -  No money -  No abortion. Some Thursdays begin with 2 or 3 chemical abortions (RU486) followed by 23 or more surgical abortions. Please keep praying for an end to abortion. We encourage you to join with us.
Thank you so much for the support of the clergy. To Fr Moe Larochelle from St Marie's for coming and praying all the mysteries of the rosary and Father Roy from Magdalene College and Fr Christian for stopping by to pray at the center on Thursday.  You are an inspiration to us all.

To all, you do make a difference. God knows you are there to honor Him and His creations.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday March 7 2013:

It was a very busy day but even the snow never stops the abortions. The woman abortionist arrived at 8:50am to begin killing the babies of 9 women waiting since 8am.  27 abortions today. Very sad.

A father from Maine who had driven his teenage daughter was the first in and the first out. As the father walked by us earlier to go to the store he ignored all our warnings about the dangers connected with terminating a first pregnancy.

A young woman walked across PP's parking lot to speak with us. She said “I want to know what options I have” but the security guard quickly came and interrupted her and basically intimidated her so she walked away from us.  Planned Parenthood doesn't do options - they do suction abortions. Some of the men took information but hard hearts prevailed.

A bright spot in an otherwise sad day occurred when former security guard Angel Gabriel stopped and said" I wanted to come by and see how everyone was doing and to tell you I have a new job and I am very happy. Thank you for praying for me."

Two unexpected visitors from the Union Leader dropped by. You can read their article in last Friday's paper entitled: Lent inspires clinic demonstrators  (Union Leader)

Thank you to all who came to the 40 Days For Life Midpoint rally on Monday March 4th!  It was a great success.  About 60 people showed up to pray together.  A special thanks to Fr. Smolley who said Mass for us, to Fr. Paul Montminy who led us in the Rosary at Planned Parenthood and to the board of the Pray for Life Center for allowing us to use the Center to gather for the potluck afterward.  And of course, a big thanks to everyone who contributed to the potluck dinner, the food was awesome. Lydia C.

To all, you do make a difference. God knows you are there to honor Him and His creations.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Feb 28 2013:
There were fewer abortions than last week, but even one abortion is too many.  The 40 Days For Life co-ordinators have done an excellent job getting the message out and every week we have new people coming to pray in front of Planned Parenthood.  If you still think you can't stand on the sidewalk -  think again. Last week a mother came with her 2 sons; one is 2 years old and other is 3 years old. The little ones walked carrying rosary beads (where was my camera when I needed it! ). This week we were also blessed with the prayerful presence of 2 nuns from St Louis Gonzaga in Nashua. Thankyou.  We need people to come from 8am -10am on Thursday mornings when 10 to 15 women will rush in for their abortion. Women still come as late as 2pm so prayerful witness all day Thursday is very important.  We all pray, we all give alms; but what about fasting? Consider fasting on Thursdays for the protection of the unborn.

“On Thursday evening the clinic was still open at 6:10 PM. Around 6:35 PM a young man and a woman drove into the parking lot. The young man was very upset. I think he tried to contact someone in the clinic but they would not let him talk to her. A pro-lifer heard him yelling something about his girlfriend bleeding, but he drove off shortly after the commotion. About 5 or 10 minutes later a young girl and her mother came out and also drove off. We surmise that this young girl had complications with her abortion. We tried to talk to her but she would not look up from her iphone. Just after 7pm the abortionist came out and got into her SUV which was parked on Pennacook St and drove off while about 5 of us were finishing up our prayer vigil. It was a very emotional prayer vigil -  actually seeing the effects of abortion on a young man who has just lost his child to abortion. Please pray for this young man that he finds strength and consolation.” (from a 40DFL volunteer)

To all, you do make a difference. God knows you are there to honor Him and His creations.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Feb 21 2013:
40 Days For Life is bringing new faces every Thursday and during the week. This Thursday a gentleman from St Andre Bessette's parish in Laconia took the day off from work to come and pray outside PP. 40 Days For Life has really brought the Latino community and their devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe to the public square to pray for the unborn.  Please ask your pastor or minister to keep and lead the flock in prayer and make a visible public statement for the unborn.

Thanks to Fr. Smolley for taking charge of the Pray For Life Center all day Thursday. And - when you see Msgr. Frontiero - please tell him how much we appreciate him leading us in prayer on the city sidewalk between those snow banks with that cold February wind blowing on us. Thanks also to Holy Family Academy students who came and prayed on Thursday and to St. Thomas More College students who came and prayed last Friday. They are our pro--life generation.

Jeannie estimates 25 or more going into Planned Parenthood. The parking lot was full, with people parking on the street.  But it did give her the opportunity to provide “Project Rachel” brochures to two men going back to their cars.

Congratulations to Sarah who gave birth to her little girl, weighing in at 4lbs 10 oz even though two weeks early. She is not requiring any special care and both mom and baby are doing well.

***The PFLC needs assistance with shoveling out the walkway and front sidewalk to the center after snowstorms. Please send us a reply at prayforlifecenter@gmail.com if you can help. Spring is coming! ***

To all, you do make a difference. God knows you are there to honor Him and His creations.

Update on Pennacook St Thursday Feb 14 2013:
Ash Wednesday 2/13/13 saw the return of 40 Days for Life to Pennacook St. http://40daysforlife.com/manchester/   This is invitation to all, especially those who doubt they can make a difference, to come and be part of a peaceful prayer vigil outside of Manchester's infamous abortion center, Planned Parenthood.  Thursday people came and prayed from 7am to 7pm. If you have never taken a stand for the unborn this is your time. Come and bring a friend or relative. We did speak with several of the men who accompanied women going in for abortions. They were less than honest with us. We are there to offer help with whatever situation women find themselves in. The most important thing we do is pray and leave it in God's hands.  Bienvenida a nuestros amigos. Gracias por su presencia en la oracion con nostros.    Cathy
